Sun, 31 Mar 2013 19:58:10 -0700 The San Diego Padres placed Ps Casey Kelly (elbow) and Cory Luebke (elbow) on the 60-day disabled list Sunday, March 31. Kelly has ligament tears in his right elbow, while Luebke is recovering from Tommy John surgery done in May 2012.

Sun, 10 Mar 2013 17:53:40 -0700 San Diego Padres SP Cory Luebke (elbow) is recovering from Tommy John surgery, but he is not currently throwing. He was throwing until two weeks ago when he felt pain in his right elbow. The team immediately shut him down, although reports from two leading physicians were positive. It will be another week or more before Luebke resumes his throwing program. Fantasy Tip: Luebke is preparing for a return somewhere around mid-June or the All-Star break. At this point, there is no sense in drafting him unless you're in a very deeper NL-only fantasy league with ample roster space.
Tue, 12 Feb 2013 12:34:57 -0800 The San Diego Padres have several open starting rotation spots after SPs Clayton Richard, Edinson Volquez and Jason Marquis. Ps Anthony Bass, Casey Kelly, Tyson Ross, Eric Stults, Freddy Garcia and Robbie Erlin are all in the picture. SP Tim Stauffer (elbow) is about two weeks behind the other pitchers. SPs Andrew Cashner (thumb), Joe Wieland (elbow) and Cory Luebke (elbow) aren't options because they are rehabbing from injuries. Cashner is expected to be back on a mound by March 1 and Wieland and Luebke won't return until midseason or later after having Tommy John surgery.

He is recovering from surgery to repair the ulnar collateral ligament in his left elbow. He said Tuesday, Sept. 11, that he has been doing some light work with weights without many restrictions. Luebke is not expected to be ready for the start of spring training or the regular season, but he expects to pitch in the 2013 season.
Thu, 24 May 2012 17:15:40 -0700 San Diego Padres manager Bud Black said Dr. Lewis Yocum, the surgeon that performed SP Cory Luebke's (elbow) reconstructive surgery, told team doctors that Luebke made the right decision to have surgery because his ulnar collateral ligament was damaged. Luebke also considered rehabbing the injury to try to return later in the season but he thought he would take too long.
Mon, 21 May 2012 12:26:01 -0700 San Diego Padres SP Cory Luebke (elbow) is scheduled to have reconstructive surgery on his elbow Wednesday, May 23. Luebke hopes to be pitching again by April or May next season and understands he likely will be on a pitching limit in 2013.
