New York Mets 1B Lucas Duda will face Philadelphia Phillies SP Cole Hamels Saturday, Aug. 9, as the team prepares for the future and lets him face tough left-handed pitchers.
Fantasy Tip: It's great that Duda will see more at-bats against southpaws, but the matchup against Hamels is one you'll probably want to avoid, if you can, in daily leagues.

New York Mets 1B Lucas Duda is in the starting lineup Tuesday, August 5, against Washington Nationals left-handed SP Gio Gonzalez. Manager Terry Collins recently said he wanted to get Duda more at-bats against left-handed pitchers.
Fantasy Tip: Duda has struggled mightily against lefties throughout his career. Additional playing time will help his counting stats, but it could also hurt his batting average.

New York Mets 1B Lucas Duda is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, July 29. 3B Eric Campbell is playing first base and hitting fourth.
Fantasy Tip: Duda has a .153 batting average against left-handed pitchers this season. With Cole Hamels on the hill for the Phillies, this is a strategic time to rest Duda. Remove Duda from your daily-transaction leagues and expect him to continue to sit against tough lefties.

New York Mets 1B Lucas Duda went 3-for-9 with two home runs and three RBIs in the three-game series against the Pittsburgh Pirates, and he feels like he's starting to turn things around at the plate. "You can see he's a lot quieter at home plate," manager Terry Collins said of Duda. "He's the strongest guy in baseball for me. He doesn't need all that movement to create bat speed. I hope some of the adjustments he's made in the last seven days will start to help him out."

New York Mets 1B Lucas Duda (illness) is in the hospital receiving IV fluids for a stomach bug Friday, May 9, and will not play.
Fantasy Tip: Make sure he's out of your lineups in all daily leagues.

New York Mets 1B Lucas Duda is hitting cleanup for only the third time this year Thursday, May 1, and manager Terry Collins is hoping he can leave Duda there for the foreseeable future. "I'm hoping it sticks for quite a while. What I tried to do is bunch up guys who are getting on base and see if we can produce some runs in this place, because (the Rockies) are scoring enough runs, it's going to be tough to keep them down," Collins said.

New York Mets manager Terry Collins said he is considering moving 1B Lucas Duda to the cleanup spot in the batting order. "We've put a lot on Lucas' plate in the past week," Collins said about the reluctance to use Duda as a cleanup hitter now. "I don't want to pile on."

The New York Mets agreed to trade 1B Ike Davis to the Pittsburgh Pirates Friday, April 18. It's unknown what the Mets will receive in return.
Fantasy Tip: As Terry Collins has said already, Lucas Duda is now clearly the starting first baseman in New York. Josh Satin can mix in against tough lefties, but this is Duda's job all the way now. There's more reason to take a chance on Duda's power in mixed leagues.

New York Mets 1B Lucas Duda is still considered the starter at first base, but 1B Ike Davis has started there once in each series and got the start Wednesday, April 16. 1B Josh Satin has started three games against lefties. Duda is hitting .364 (8-for-22) with a home run and four RBIs in his last five starts, but manager Terry Collins said Davis received the nod Wednesday because of his history at Chase Field and the fact that he wanted to get Davis a start in his hometown.
Fantasy Tip: This is a situation to stay away from unless you're in an NL-only league. Duda is the guy to own if you must have one of the trio.

New York Mets general manager Sandy Alderson said 1Bs Lucas Duda and Ike Davis are unlikely to be sent down to make room on the roster for OF Chris Young (quadriceps) Friday, April 18.
