Mets | Lucas Duda out Tuesday

Tue, 26 Apr 2016 13:36:05 -0700

New York Mets 1B Lucas Duda is not in the lineup Tuesday, April 26, against the Cincinnati Reds. SS Wilmer Flores replaced Duda and will bat sixth against Reds SP Brandon Finnegan.

Fantasy Tip: Duda is out due to the lefty vs. lefty matchup, although he may pinch-hit later in the game. Still, daily owners should leave Duda off their roster. Flores has little fantasy value (.143 average in the last week, .174 for the season).

Mets | Lucas Duda, Yoenis Cespedes go deep

Wed, 20 Apr 2016 23:54:52 -0700

New York Mets 1B Lucas Duda went 3-for-5 with a solo home run and OF Yoenis Cespedes was 2-for-6 with a solo homer Wednesday, April 20, against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Fantasy Tip: The two went back-to-back in the fifth inning off Philadelphia's Jeremy Hellickson. Duda and Cespedes are must-start fantasy options in most formats, and they're great DFS plays.

Mets | Lucas Duda takes a seat

Wed, 13 Apr 2016 07:48:28 -0700

New York Mets 1B Lucas Duda is out of the lineup Wednesday, April 13, with SS Wilmer Flores playing first and hitting fifth. 2B Neil Walker moves up into Duda's cleanup spot. C Travis d'Arnaud also has the day off, and C Kevin Plawecki is hitting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Duda is out against lefty Adam Conley, and Walker has enhanced DFS value at cleanup. Flores is an iffy DFS option, but his place in the lineup makes him a consideration for a basement play. Plawecki isn't a strong fantasy consideration.

Mets | Lucas Duda, Michael Conforto playing Sunday

Sun, 27 Mar 2016 07:57:57 -0700

New York Mets 1B Lucas Duda (neck) and OF Michael Conforto (back) are back in the starting lineup against the Washington Nationals Sunday, March 27.

Fantasy Tip: Duda will once again serve as New York's everyday first baseman and is a decent source of power, though he is prone to experience lengthy hot and cold stretches during the year. Conforto has an excellent chance to serve as a starting outfielder this season, although his struggles against left-handed pitching may lead to him platooning in left field. Both players should be available during the later middle rounds of drafts for mixed fantasy leagues.

Mets | Lucas Duda remains out

Sat, 26 Mar 2016 05:49:06 -0700

New York Mets 1B Lucas Duda (neck) will not be able to play against the Atlanta Braves Saturday, March 26, but said he will be able to play Sunday, March 27.

Fantasy Tip: Duda has been a solid source of power for the team over the last few seasons and will be the everyday first baseman again this season. He should be a fine corner infielder option in mixed leagues this season.

Mets | Lucas Duda scratched with stiff neck

Fri, 25 Mar 2016 13:23:49 -0700

New York Mets 1B Lucas Duda (neck) did not play Friday, March 25, because of a stiff neck. The injury is not considered serious.

Fantasy Tip: Duda has slugged 57 home runs with 165 RBI and a .249/.350/.483 slash line over the past two seasons. He can be maddeningly inconsistent, though, so be prepared to endure lengthy slumps. He is still an excellent target in the late middle rounds, especially if you're after power numbers.

Mets | Lucas Duda deserves full-time role

Mon, 01 Feb 2016 16:39:59 -0800

New York Mets 1B Lucas Duda deserves everyday playing time against left-handed pitchers after he hit .285 with seven home runs against southpaws in 2015 in 123 at-bats, in the opinion of ESPNNewYork.com's Adam Rubin.

Fantasy Tip: Duda is once again a candidate to slug 30 home runs, and his improvements against lefties are a big reason why. However, he's prone to long slumps and is known as a streaky hitter, so be prepared to live with that if you own him.

Mets | Lucas Duda avoids arbitration

Fri, 22 Jan 2016 19:54:55 -0800

New York Mets 1B Lucas Duda has avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year deal with the team worth $6.725 million.

Fantasy Tip: Duda had been looking for a one-year deal worth $7.5 million, while the club initially countered with a $5.9 million offer. He hit .244 with 27 home runs and 73 RBIs in 135 regular-season games last season and should be available to be drafted in the middle rounds of mixed fantasy leagues.

Mets | Lucas Duda files for arbitration

Sat, 16 Jan 2016 10:26:35 -0800

New York Mets 1B Lucas Duda has filed for salary arbitration. He is seeking $7.5 million next season while the team has countered with a $5.9 million offer.

Fantasy Tip: Duda hit .244 with 27 home runs and 73 RBIs in 135 regular-season games last year but his streakiness can make him a player that's frustrating to own at times in seasonal leagues. He should be available in the middle rounds of all fantasy formats as a midrange option at first base.

Mets | Lucas Duda heating up?

Thu, 29 Oct 2015 15:41:15 -0700

New York Mets 1B Lucas Duda has four hits in nine World Series at-bats through two games and is hitting .500 (8-for-16) in his last four playoff games. He's also using the opposite field often, which is a good sign for him. Duda has 57 home runs and 165 RBI in his last two seasons. Hitting coaches Kevin Long and Pat Roessler have helped Duda minimize and control the timing of his leg kick this year. He also hit much better at home (.275/.388/.611) than on the road (.215/.317/.368) this year.

Fantasy Tip: Duda is known as a streaky hitter, and if he is just starting to heat up in the World Series, the Kansas City Royals could be in trouble. Duda possesses plenty of power with his left-handed stick, but because of his streaky ways, he can be a very frustrating player to own in traditional fantasy leagues.
