Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid said he is happy RB Lamar Gordon is now part of the team. "Lamar is a big back with good speed and quickness," said Reid. "He also has the ability to catch the ball which will help him in this offense. He's a talented, young running back who should be a good compliment to the rest of the backs on this team. We're look forward to getting him into Philadelphia and onto the practice field this week."

Steve Megargee, of the Naples Daily News, reports Miami Dolphins RB Sammy Morris takes over for RB Lamar Gordon as the team's starting running back for their preseason game Saturday, August 13, against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Dolphins head coach Nick Saban said that he made the decision long before the Dolphins lost 27-24 to the Chicago Bears, Monday, August 8.

MiamiDolphins.com reports Miami Dolphins DT Jason Taylor believes the team's current stable of running backs could be one of the deepest and most talented in the league. "If everything stays the way we all hope it does, we can be great at the running back position," Taylor said. "We have (Ricky Williams) back and he looks like the Ricky of old. He is not quite as big as he was, but looks fast and quick. We have Sammy Morris and Lamar Gordon healthy. When we get (Ronnie Brown) in camp and get him going, we can have four backs that can do something, not to mention Travis Minor. He is still a good change of pace guy."

Bedard, of the Palm Beach Post, reports the Miami Dolphins released their first training camp depth chart Monday, August 1, and RB Ricky Williams trails RBs Lamar Gordon, Sammy Morris and Travis Minor at running back. Head coach Nick Saban downplayed the depth chart's importance, telling reporters it is merely "a snapshot in time." Saban said releasing the depth chart is a "formality" required by the NFL.

Carl Kotala, of Florida Today, reports Miami Dolphins RB Lamar Gordon worked with the first team offense at both practices Monday, July 25. Gordon is there because RB Ronnie Brown has yet to sign and RB Ricky Williams is still buried on the depth chart. Gordon also said he wants to stay with the team and he does not want to be traded to the Jacksonville Jaguars or any other team. "If that comes up I'll just take it and be ready, but I really don't want to go nowhere right now. I want to stay here," Gordon said of the trade rumors. "I know the offense right now. I'm just ready to play soon. We got the first game in a year and I just want to play."

He's not worried about the sudden glut of running backs on the team. "I'm really focused on me being ready, being healthy, meshing with the team, meshing with the new offense and going to work," Gordon said. Alex Marvez and Harvey Fialkov, of the Sun-Sentinel, report Miami Dolphins RB Lamar Gordon (shoulder) will miss the remainder of the 2004 season after suffering a shoulder injury in Week 3. It appears Gordon is seeking a second opinion before agreeing to undergo shoulder surgery. He had rushed for 64 yards on 35 carries (1.8 yards per carry) in three games, which included two starts. Gordon also had 74 yards receiving on 13 receptions.

Miami Dolphins RB Lamar Gordon (shoulder) has a left shoulder dislocation or separation. Head coach Dave Wannstedt said Monday, Sept. 27, that it is "very doubtful" Gordon would be available for the team's Week 4 game against the New York Jets and there is a chance he could miss an extended period of time.
