The New York Mets signed free-agent 2B Brad Emaus (Red Sox) and OF Fred Lewis (Indians) to minor league deals and sent them to Triple-A Buffalo.

The New York Mets designated 2B Brad Emaus for assignment Tuesday, April 19, and recalled 2B Justin Turner from the minors to take his place, according to ESPNNewYork.com's Adam Rubin. Emaus will have to go through waivers before he is offered back to the Toronto Blue Jays because he was a Rule 5 pick. Turner hit .300 (12-for-40) with two RBIs in 10 games with Triple-A Buffalo this year.
