Fri, 17 May 2013 10:27:41 -0700 Kansas City Royals OF Jarrod Dyson (ankle) has been placed on the 15-day disabled list. The team has recalled OF David Lough from Triple-A Omaha. Fantasy Tip: Dyson's recent increase in playing time comes to a temp end. Jeff Francoeur will probably get his PT back but is at best a 15-team mixed league reserve unless he gets hot. If Lough gets a few ABs, he may be useful in deep AL-only leagues.
Wed, 08 May 2013 15:03:17 -0700 Kansas City Royals OF David Lough has a 15-game hitting streak with Triple-A Omaha, and he may be in line for a promotion soon. He's batting .363 with a .411 on-base percentage and a .526 slugging percentage. Fantasy Tip: The Royals don't really have any openings in their outfield at the moment, however, so if Lough were to come up, he wouldn't see the kind of playing time to warrant an addition in mixed leagues. He's worth watching, though.
Tue, 26 Mar 2013 10:29:52 -0700 The Kansas City Royals released OF Xavier Nady and RP George Sherrill Monday, March 25, and sent OF David Lough to the minors.
Wed, 20 Mar 2013 17:45:56 -0700 Kansas City Royals OF Jeff Francoeur, who is hitting .232 with a .271 on-base percentage this spring, said he doesn't pay too much attention to his spring results because he's still ironing out the kinks in his swing. "Some guys can be ready with 35 or 40 at-bats," he said. "Billy (Butler) is one of those guys. But I can't. I need to see pitches - and more late in camp. Then you face people that you know. That's key." The team is slightly concerned with Francoeur's results, though, and they may consider using OF David Lough to spell Francoeur against tough right-handed pitchers this year. Fantasy Tip: Francoeur will be hard pressed to surpass 500 at-bats in a full season again, especially if he continues to struggle against southpaws. This makes him pretty unattractive in mixed leagues.
Wed, 14 Nov 2012 11:48:45 -0800 Kansas City Royals OF Lorenzo Cain plans to put in plenty of work this winter to strengthen his legs in order to avoid a repeat of the injuries he dealt with to his lower half this season. "I'm going to drive up here once a month and stay here for a few days and just try doing stuff to strengthen my legs to prevent some of these injuries," Cain said. "That's my main focus, just to come here and work on certain areas that I'm weak in, and continue to do it throughout the season and stay healthy." OFs Wil Myers, Jarrod Dyson and David Lough will all be competing with Cain next spring for starting spots in the outfield.
Fri, 14 Sep 2012 16:03:36 -0700 Kansas City Royals OF Lorenzo Cain (hamstring) was diagnosed with a Grade 2 strain of his right hamstring Friday, Sept. 14, and he might be forced to miss the rest of the year. OFs David Lough and Jason Bourgeois will platoon in center field, meaning OF Jeff Francoeur will remain in right field.
Fri, 07 Sep 2012 16:30:46 -0700 Kansas City Royals OF David Lough (hamstring) is available to play Friday, Sept. 7.
Fri, 07 Sep 2012 08:50:35 -0700 Kansas City Royals OF David Lough (hamstring) was held out of the lineup with a mild right hamstring strain Thursday, Sept. 6. He was injured while running to first base Wednesday, Sept. 5.
Sun, 02 Sep 2012 00:05:56 -0700 OF David Lough and C Manny Pina were called up by the Kansas City Royals on Saturday, Sept. 1, the first day that rosters could be expanded for the remainder of the season.
Sun, 18 Mar 2012 16:47:18 -0700 The Kansas City Royals optioned OF David Lough, 1B Clint Robinson and OF Derrick Robinson to Triple-A Omaha Sunday, March 18.
