Royals | Greg Holland with another rough outing

Tue, 21 Jul 2015 23:12:05 -0700

Kansas City Royals RP Greg Holland allowed a run on four hits and a walk with two strikeouts in converting his 21st save Tuesday, July 21.

Fantasy Tip: That's two rough outings in a row if you include his blown save Saturday. He has a 4.66 ERA and 1.86 WHIP this month, which can be misleading because it's just 9 2/3 innings. However, 13 hits and five walks in that stretch tells the story that he's struggling. Holland is still an elite closer in traditional formats, but stay tuned to his progress in the near future.

Kansas City Royals RP Greg Holland blew the save Tuesday, July 7, against the Tampa Bay Rays. Holland picked up the win when the Royals scored four runs in the bottom of the inning.

Fantasy Tip: Holland blew a save for just the second time this season, but he has been bailed out in the bottom-half of the inning on both occasions. Holland remains a clear-cut elite closer.

Royals | Greg Holland has stiff neck

Tue, 19 May 2015 19:40:26 -0700

Kansas City Royals RP Greg Holland (neck) was held out of the game Tuesday, May 19, against the Cincinnati Reds, due to a stiff neck.

Fantasy Tip: Holland must be kept on season-long rosters regardless of whether he ends up on the disabled list. That's a worst-case scenario at this point, as the injury doesn't sound overly serious. The Royals will play it safe with one of the best closers in the game, and owners should expect a few more nights off.

Royals | Greg Holland's MRI results

Mon, 20 Apr 2015 14:08:17 -0700

Kansas City Royals RP Greg Holland's (pectoral) MRI revealed his pectoral has a Grade 1 strain. The organization is still optimistic he will be ready to return in two weeks.

Fantasy Tip: Wade Davis, who should have been owned in the majority of leagues anyway, figures to see most save chances. He is a high-end reliever in the role, too. Continue to check back for updates on Holland's recovery and return timeline. He should be stashed in all leagues.
