The Associated Press reports Baltimore Orioles C Freuny Parra was suspended 50 games Wednesday, Sept. 16, after testing positive for Boldenone, a performance-enhancing drug. His suspension will begin at the start of next season.

The New York Post reports the New York Yankees signed C Freuny Parra, a catcher who was drafted last year by the Cincinnati Reds out of Connors State (Okla.) Junior College but not signed. Parra received a $5,000 signing bonus and a plane ticket to Tampa to begin workouts.
