Carolina Panthers DT Ron Edwards (elbow) will miss the rest of the season after dislocating his left elbow in Week 12 Monday, Nov. 26. He'll be out a minimum of four to six weeks, and he'll be placed on Injured Reserve. DT Frank Kearse will be promoted from the practice squad. Head coach Ron Rivera said DTs Sione Fua, Andre Neblett or Kearse will start in Week 13.

Carolina Panthers DT Ron Edwards (triceps) hopes to play during the 2011 season despite suffering a torn triceps muscle on the first day of training camp when he was able to participate. Edwards, who was projected to start on the defensive line, said he is going to try to return to the field as soon as possible. He has started 80 consecutive games, which is a streak that may soon come to an end due to his injury.
