Updating a previous report, the Carolina Panthers felt lucky to get 11 games out of DT Ron Edwards last season. The team needs salary cap space, and cutting Edwards would save $2.5 million in cap space.

Carolina Panthers DT Ron Edwards (elbow) will miss the rest of the season after dislocating his left elbow in Week 12 Monday, Nov. 26. He'll be out a minimum of four to six weeks, and he'll be placed on Injured Reserve. DT Frank Kearse will be promoted from the practice squad. Head coach Ron Rivera said DTs Sione Fua, Andre Neblett or Kearse will start in Week 13.

Anderson and Hardy did not participate in practice Saturday, Nov. 24, Senn was limited during practice and the other players fully participated.
