Updating a previous report, Texas Rangers OF Jake Smolinski (foot) is dealing with a cracked bone in his left foot, and he is not close to returning. He is eligible to come off the 15-day disabled list Wednesday, Aug. 6, but he is still back in Texas getting treatment and doing rehab, and he is limited in his baseball activities. "He'll need more time," assistant general manager Thad Levine said Tuesday, Aug. 5. "He's making progress but we want to make sure he's not in harm's way."
