Andy Parrino Fantasy Baseball News, Notes, Rumors and Statistics
The latest Andy Parrino MLB and fantasy baseball news
Thu, 25 Apr 2013 15:42:42 -0700 The Oakland Athletics activated INF Adam Rosales (intercostal) from the 15-day disabled list Thursday, April 25, and optioned INF Andy Parrino to Triple-A Sacramento in a corresponding move.
Wed, 24 Apr 2013 13:11:33 -0700 Oakland Athletics INF Adam Rosales (intercostal) has played in six rehab games with Single-A Stockton and Triple-A Sacramento and could return from the disabled list as early as Thursday, April 25. INF Andy Parrino is expected to be sent to Sacramento when Rosales returns.
Thu, 11 Apr 2013 11:53:22 -0700 Oakland Athletics 2B Jemile Weeks worked at shortstop with Triple-A Sacramento Wednesday, April 10, and started there for the first time in his career. The team recalled INF Andy Parrino over him because Parrino can play shortstop, second base, third and the outfield. "I wouldn't be surprised if that was Jemile's idea," manager Bob Melvin said. "It just opens up some versatility options for him."
Thu, 11 Apr 2013 11:49:05 -0700 Oakland Athletics 2B Eric Sogard will see the bulk of playing time at second base with 2B Scott Sizemore (knee) out for the year. INF Andy Parrino was called up over 2B Jemile Weeks because of his versatility. SS Hiroyuki Nakajima could work out at second base with Triple-A Sacramento now, too, and it might be a better fit for him at the big league level than shortstop, Susan Slusser speculates. Weeks and 2B Grant Green could also be used at the keystone at some point this year. Fantasy Tip: Right now, Sogard is the only player worth owning at this spot, but only in AL-only formats. Weeks may be the best speculative add in those same leagues if he can prove to the club that he deserves another shot. This very well could be a revolving door, though, so don't invest a ton.
Wed, 10 Apr 2013 13:31:19 -0700 The Oakland Athletics placed 2B Scott Sizemore (knee) on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained left knee Wednesday, April 10, and recalled INF Andy Parrino from Triple-A Sacramento in a corresponding move. Fantasy Tip: Sizemore had lost out on the majority of playing time at the keystone to Eric Sogard out of spring training. Parrino is mainly being called up for infield depth, so he shouldn't be of much use, even in deep AL leagues.
Wed, 10 Apr 2013 07:35:07 -0700 Oakland Athletics 2B Scott Sizemore (knee) sprained his surgically repaired left knee Tuesday, April 9, and will undergo an MRI. He's likely headed to the disabled list. INF Andy Parrino is expected to come up from Triple-A Sacramento.
Sat, 30 Mar 2013 16:26:17 -0700 The Oakland Athletics have optioned 2B Andy Parrino and P Pedro Figueroa to Triple-A Sacramento.
Mon, 04 Feb 2013 15:13:14 -0800 The Oakland Athletics, with the acquisition of SS Jed Lowrie, have given themselves insurance in case SS Hiroyuki Nakajima doesn't cut it at shortstop this year. If Nakajima struggles, Lowrie can play shortstop and Nakajima can slide over to second base and 3B Scott Sizemore can battle for playing time at third base with 3B Josh Donaldson. If Nakajima works out at shortstop, Lowrie can play third base. INFs Andy Parrino, Eric Sogard and Adam Rosales shore up the depth further.
Tue, 04 Dec 2012 14:07:07 -0800 The Oakland Athletics are set to meet with the agent for free-agent Japanese League SS Hiroyuki Nakajima at the winter meetings Tuesday, Dec. 4. The Athletics are likely to offer Nakajima plenty of playing time, with INFs Adam Rosales and Andy Parrino as their other in-house options at shortstop. The Arizona Diamondbacks, who already met with Nakajima, are still interested.
Fri, 16 Nov 2012 10:10:15 -0800 The Oakland Athletics acquired INF Andy Parrino and SP Andrew Werner from the San Diego Padres in exchange for SP Tyson Ross and 1B A.J. Kirby-Jones.
