Rams | Nutten may retire

Jim Thomas, of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, reports St. Louis Rams OL Tom Nutten is once again considering retirement from the NFL. Nutten has discussed retirement before, but this time it may stick, in part because Nutten turns 35 in June, and in part because none of the coaches who kept coaxing him out of retirement are still with the Rams.

Updating previous reports, St. Louis Rams OG Tom Nutten (neck) may retire after being placed on the team's Injured Reserve. Nutten has basically been called out of retirement twice to help the team out, so this may be it for the eight-year pro.

The Associated Press reports St. Louis Rams OG Tom Nutten (neck) was placed on the team's Injured Reserve Wednesday, Nov. 16, and is out for the season. Nutten has a herniated disc that should heal with six to eight weeks of rest.

OLG Claude Terrell started the Week 10 game against the Seattle Seahawks in place of OLG Tom Nutten. However, Terrell was benched in the second half in place of OG Rex Tucker due to pass protection problems.
