Brewers | Jonathan Lucroy resting

Wed, 01 Jul 2015 12:06:29 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers C Jonathan Lucroy is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, July 1. C Martin Maldonado is starting and hitting eighth against Philadelphia Phillies SP Aaron Harang.

Fantasy Tip: Maldonado ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) is a weak FantasyScore catching option today, even against the struggling Harang. Maldonado has 24 hits in 130 at-bats (.185) with three home runs and 12 RBI this season.

Brewers | Jonathan Lucroy has four-hit game

Mon, 29 Jun 2015 21:33:08 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers C Jonathan Lucroy went 4-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBIs Monday, June 29, against the Philadelphia Phillies. Lucroy loves Citizens Bank Park, going 22-for-44 (.500) in 11 career games.

Fantasy Tip: Lucroy ($3,900; or 7.8% of cap) has struggled for most of the season, but he is a must-start in FantasyScore when playing in Philadelphia due to his strong numbers at the park.

Brewers | Jonathan Lucroy returns to action

Sun, 21 Jun 2015 12:15:07 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers C Jonathan Lucroy is back in the starting lineup against the Colorado Rockies Sunday, June 21, batting cleanup.

Fantasy Tip: After getting off to a slow start offensively, Lucroy ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) is batting .292 over the last four weeks and .350 over the last seven days. However, he hasn't developed his power stroke yet, as he only has one home run in 117 at-bats and just three doubles after hitting 53 in 2014.

Brewers | Jonathan Lucroy not starting Saturday

Sat, 20 Jun 2015 10:14:59 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers C Jonathan Lucroy is not in the starting lineup against the Colorado Rockies Saturday, June 20. C Martin Maldonado will start behind the plate and bat eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Lucroy ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) is receiving a regular day off, with the team playing a day game following a night game. Maldonado ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) is hitting just .180 with three homers and 12 RBIs and better FantasyScore options can be found for a slightly higher price.

Brewers | Jonathan Lucroy will not start

Sun, 14 Jun 2015 08:05:22 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers C Jonathan Lucroy is not in the starting lineup against Washington Nationals SP Max Scherzer Sunday, June 14. C Martin Maldonado will take his place and is batting eighth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Lucroy ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) probably is receiving a day off after playing in each of the last 12 games. Maldonado ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) has received only start this month and hitting .177 this season, so owners on FantasyScore may want to look for a better option.

Brewers | Jonathan Lucroy leading off

Thu, 11 Jun 2015 16:04:23 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers C Jonathan Lucroy will bat from the leadoff position Thursday, June 11, against the Washington Nationals.

Fantasy Tip: Lucroy ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) should receive a slight boost in FantasyScore value, although he faces a fairly difficult test against RHP Tanner Roark. Lucroy has gone 0-for-8 in his past two games, adding to the risk. Lucroy should be reserved for GPP lineups.

Brewers | Jonathan Lucroy to be DH

Sun, 07 Jun 2015 09:29:14 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers C Jonathan Lucroy will serve as the designated hitter Sunday, June 7. C Martin Maldonado will be the starting catcher and is batting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Lucroy ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) has picked up eight hits and two RBI in five games since returning from injury. He is one of the more expensive catchers available but could be a solid option on FantasyScore. Maldonado ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) had four hits in his last start but is hitting .182 this season and may not be a great option.

Brewers | Jonathan Lucroy hits first round tripper

Sat, 06 Jun 2015 05:41:33 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers C Jonathan Lucroy hit his first home run of the season during the Brewers' 10-5 win over the Minnesota Twins Friday, June 5.

Fantasy Tip: Lucroy ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) missed over a month of action with a toe injury, but he has caught fire over the past three games with at least two hits in each. Though it is a small sample size, it is a snapshot of Lucroy's upside, as he has gone 7-for-14 with two runs, a home run, two RBI and a 1.286 OPS. FantasyScore players can confidently start him in the majority of matchups, the only kicker is they'll have to spend up to do so.

Brewers | Jonathan Lucroy in two-hole

Mon, 01 Jun 2015 14:02:56 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers C Jonathan Lucroy (toe) is back in the starting lineup and hitting second in the batting order against St. Louis Cardinals SP Jaime Garcia Monday, June 1, after being activated from the disabled list earlier in the day.

Fantasy Tip: Lucroy ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) returns after having only 45 at-bats in April before being injured. It's reasonable to be hesitant to trust him on FantasyScore immediately, but the matchup against Garcia isn't a bad one to roll with. Lucroy hit .304 (42-for-138) with one of his 13 home runs against southpaws in 2014.

Brewers | Jonathan Lucroy activated

Mon, 01 Jun 2015 12:21:28 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers C Jonathan Lucroy (toe) was activated from the 15-day disabled list Monday, June 1.

Fantasy Tip: Lucroy ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) last played Monday, April 20, so expecting him to explode out of the gate upon his return is ill-advised. During his four-game rehab assignment, Lucroy went 4-for-16 with three runs and a RBI. FantasyScore players should view him as a high-risk, high-reward option initially, because of his hefty salary. Over time, though, he projects to return to being a top-tier catcher in all fantasy formats.
