Brewers | Jonathan Lucroy gets night off

Thu, 26 May 2016 14:33:20 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers C Jonathan Lucroy (rest) is not in the starting lineup Thursday, May 26. C Martin Maldonado is starting in his place behind the plate and batting eighth opposite Atlanta Braves SP Matt Wisler.

Fantasy Tip: Maldonado has typically been one of the more underrated backup catchers in recent years, but that hasn't been the case in 2016. With just two hits in 28 at-bats this season, daily owners can immediately forget about using Maldonado, especially being pitted against a surging pitcher like Wisler. Lucroy should be back in the club's next game.

Brewers | Jonathan Lucroy out of the lineup

Thu, 19 May 2016 08:16:58 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers C Jonathan Lucroy is out of the lineup Thursday, May 19, with 2B Scooter Gennett hitting third. C Martin Maldonado is hitting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Gennett is hitting .167 this week and .233 on the year. You could make a case that he's worth the basement flyer in DFS because of where he's hitting. He has hit .313 in 16 at-bats against Jason Hammel in his career. Maldonado isn't worth consideration in DFS.

Brewers | Chris Carter takes a seat

Sat, 14 May 2016 14:19:14 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 1B Chris Carter is out of the lineup Saturday, May 14, with C Jonathan Lucroy shifting to first base and hitting cleanup. C Martin Maldonado is hitting eighth and squatting behind the plate.

Fantasy Tip: Lucroy is an obvious consideration daily. Maldonado is hitting just .095 on the season, and he's not a good start against Luis Perdomo.

Brewers | Jonathan Lucroy, Aaron Hill resting

Mon, 09 May 2016 11:35:17 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers C Jonathan Lucroy and 3B Aaron Hill are not in the starting lineup Monday, May 9. C Martin Maldonado is behind the plate and is batting seventh, while 3B Colin Walsh is at the hot corner and is hitting sixth against Miami Marlins SP Jose Fernandez.

Fantasy Tip: Maldonado (.053) and Walsh (.108) haven't done squat at the dish this year and are in for a tough matchup in Hernandez. The chances are very low that either one of them will return value in daily games.

Brewers | Domingo Santana, Jonathan Lucroy return

Sat, 07 May 2016 12:47:23 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Domingo Santana and C Jonathan Lucroy are back in the starting lineup against Cincinnati Reds SP Brandon Finnegan Saturday, May 7, while SS Jonathan Villar, 3B Colin Walsh and OF Kirk Nieuwenhuis receive the day off. INF Yadiel Rivera will bat eighth and play shortstop, INF Hernan Perez will play third base and hit second and OF Alex Presley will bat seventh and play center field.

Fantasy Tip: Presley and Perez are worthy of consideration as value plays in daily fantasy leagues today. Presley is batting .310 with three home runs and eight RBI in just 29 at-bats, while Perez is 5-for-14 (.357) with two homers and three RBI. Lucroy is also enjoying recent success at the dish, batting .357 with two doubles, a home run and four RBI over the past week.

Brewers | Jonathan Lucroy has Friday off

Fri, 06 May 2016 11:38:10 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers C Jonathan Lucroy is out of the lineup Friday, May 6, with C Martin Maldonado hitting eighth. 1B Chris Carter moved up to hit cleanup.

Fantasy Tip: Maldonado has had a miserable year and isn't worth starting. Carter has been a man possessed with five homers in the last seven days. He's a high-end start against Tim Adleman.

Brewers | Jonathan Lucroy, Ramon Flores out Sunday

Sun, 01 May 2016 07:39:57 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers C Jonathan Lucroy and OF Ramon Flores are not in the starting lineup against Miami Marlins SP Tom Koehler Sunday, May 1. C Martin Maldonado will start behind the plate and bat eighth, while OF Kirk Niewenhuis plays center field and bats fifth.

Fantasy Tip: Maldonado is hitless through his first 14 at-bats, so he can be ignored from a fantasy standpoint. On the other hand, Nieuwenhuis has three extra-base hits and seven RBI through 34 at-bats and is positioned in a favorable spot in the batting order, so he's worth considering as a value play in daily fantasy games.

Brewers | Jonathan Lucroy not in the lineup

Sun, 24 Apr 2016 09:55:29 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers C Jonathan Lucroy is not in the starting lineup against Philadelphia Phillies SP Jerad Eickhoff Sunday, April 24. C Martin Maldonado will start at catcher and is batting eighth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Maldonado has gone hitless in 10 at-bats this season and should not be used in any leagues.

Brewers | Chris Carter sits

Thu, 14 Apr 2016 08:39:11 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 1B Chris Carter is out of the lineup Thursday, April 14, with C Jonathan Lucroy sliding over to first base and hitting cleanup.

Fantasy Tip: The move is a little puzzling because lefty Jaime Garcia is on the mound. However, when you take into consideration that Lucroy has hit safely in all seven of his games and is hitting .346, it makes sense to keep him in there. Lucroy is a high-end catching option. Martin Maldonado is behind the plate, but he doesn't deserve fantasy consideration.

Brewers | Jonathan Lucroy off to hot start

Thu, 14 Apr 2016 01:07:49 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers C Jonathan Lucroy has hit safely in all seven games this season, including three hits and two runs batted in Wednesday, April 13, against the St. Louis Cardinals.

Fantasy Tip: Lucroy is 15-for-32 against Mike Leake, the Cardinals' starting pitcher on Wednesday, but this is still an impressive stat. He is one of the top catchers in fantasy in NL and mixed leagues.
