The Cleveland Indians optioned RP Nick Hagadone to Triple-A Columbus Thursday, May 16.

Fantasy Tip: As Paul Hoynes alludes to, this move is likely clearing the way for Vinnie Pestano (elbow) to come off the disabled list Friday. He'll return to his usual eighth-inning setup duties to Chris Perez.

The Cleveland Indians placed RP Vinnie Pestano (elbow) on the 15-day disabled list with right elbow tendonitis Monday, May 6, and recalled RP Nick Hagadone from the minors in a corresponding move.

Fantasy Tip: Joe Smith will now be serving as the eighth-inning setup bridge to Chris Perez, but Smith doesn't carry any real threat of stealing save opportunities from Perez unless an injury occurs or he needs a rest. Smith is only worth owning in deep AL leagues with Pestano out.

The Cleveland Indians recalled P Nick Hagadone from Triple-A Columbus Friday, April 12, and activated 1B Jason Giambi (back) from the 15-day disabled list. Also, RP Matt Albers was put on the paternity list and P Corey Kluber was optioned to Columbus.

Cleveland Indians RP Nick Hagadone (forearm) is happy and eager to get a fresh start with the team after last summer. He will be included in the team's Opening Day bullpen. After his outing last July 6, he broke the radius bone in his left forearm when slamming a door in anger. He was eventually placed on the minor-league disqualified list due to the self-inflicted injury and then underwent surgery.

The Cleveland Indians optioned C Yan Gomes and 3B Cord Phelps to Triple-A Columbus and moved RP Frank Herrmann (elbow) to the 60-day disabled list Monday, March 25. Ps Nick Hagadone and Bryan Shaw and 2B Ryan Raburn will be added to the 25-man roster. SP Carlos Carrasco will open on the major league roster, serve his six-game suspension and then be sent to Columbus.

Cleveland Indians P Nick Hagadone (wrist) still has an active grievance against the team. He received a full salary from last year, but service time remains an issue. Hagadone is credited with 107 days of big-league time. He was placed on the minor-league suspended list July 6 after he hit part of the dugout following a bad outing, suffering a broken left wrist. He needed surgery and missed the rest of the season.

Cleveland Indians RP Nick Hagadone (wrist) said Friday, Jan. 18, that his surgically repaired left wrist has healed and that he is a full-go for the start of spring training.
