Miami Marlins INF/OF Derek Dietrich is batting fifth and starting in left field against Philadelphia Phillies SP David Buchanan Sunday, Oct. 4.

Fantasy Tip: Dietrich ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) is just 1-for-16 over the past week and should be avoided today in FantasyScore.

Marlins | Martin Prado still out of the lineup

Thu, 24 Sep 2015 12:20:43 -0700

Miami Marlins 3B Martin Prado (wrist) remains out of the starting lineup Thursday, Sept. 24. OF Derek Dietrich is starting at third base and hitting second against Philadelphia Phillies SP Alec Asher Thursday.

Fantasy Tip: Prado ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) has now sat six consecutive games, and there still hasn't been an update on when he'll return to the lineup. Continue to check back for updates, but seasonal owners shouldn't be afraid of replacing Prado for a player who can contribute immediately. Dietrich ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) has been an excellent contributor against right-handed pitchers this season with a .279/.369/.525 slash line, and he stands to move the FantasyScore needle for those willing to take a flier on the outfielder.

Mon, 14 Sep 2015 13:06:42 -0700

Miami Marlins OF Marcell Ozuna is not in the starting lineup Monday, Sept. 14. OF Derek Dietrich is starting in left field and batting fifth against New York Mets SP Logan Verrett Monday.

Fantasy Tip: Ozuna ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) has flashed some upside with a .473 slugging percentage since rejoining the Marlins Saturday, Aug. 15. Dietrich ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) has slowed down in the second half, but he still boasts a .239/.344/.478 slash line and stands as a viable value play at FantasyScore.

Marlins | Dee Gordon out of the starting lineup

Sun, 13 Sep 2015 08:25:25 -0700

Miami Marlins 2B Dee Gordon is not in the starting lineup Sunday, Sept. 13. OF Derek Dietrich is starting at second base and batting sixth and OF Ichiro Suzuki is batting first against Washington Nationals SP Max Scherzer Sunday.

Fantasy Tip: While Scherzer ($8,500, 17.0% of cap) has struggled over his past seven starts with a 6.08 ERA, neither Suzuki ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) or Dietrich ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) project as strong FantasyScore plays. At best, they're contrarian fliers Sunday.

Marlins | Marcell Ozuna out of Saturday lineup

Sat, 05 Sep 2015 15:46:34 -0700

Miami Marlins OF Marcell Ozuna is not starting Saturday, Sept. 5, against the New York Mets and SP Bartolo Colon. OF Derek Dietrich is in left and batting fifth.

Fantasy Tip: Ozuna ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) is likely out because he has a .182 average against Colon. Dietrich ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) isn't much better. In fact, he has a worse average (.143) against Colon. He isn't worth the price in FantasyScore.

Marlins | Derek Dietrich has a seat

Wed, 02 Sep 2015 07:16:33 -0700

Miami Marlins 3B Derek Dietrich is out of the lineup Wednesday, Sept. 2, for the second straight day.

Fantasy Tip: Christian Yelich ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) came back and is manning left field every day, which pushed Dietrich to the bench. Yelich is hitting second against Williams Perez and is a good start on FantasyScore.

Miami Marlins OF Christian Yelich (knee) is not in the starting lineup against Washington Nationals SP Stephen Strasburg Sunday, Aug. 30. OF Derek Dietrich will start in left field and is batting fifth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Yelich ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) is still sidelined with his knee injury and no timetable has been announced. Dietrich ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) has four hits in his last eight games and may not be the best option for owners on FantasyScore.

Marlins | Christian Yelich to miss another game

Sat, 29 Aug 2015 14:19:13 -0700

Miami Marlins OF Christian Yelich (knee) is not in the starting lineup against Washington Nationals SP Jordan Zimmermann Saturday, Aug. 29. OF Derek Dietrich will start in left field and is batting fourth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Yelich ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) has been sidelined for the last few days because of a knee injury, so owners should look for a possible timetable. Dietrich ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) is hitting .263 with three home runs and 14 RBI this month and could be an option on FantasyScore.

Marlins | Christian Yelich sitting vs. Pirates

Thu, 27 Aug 2015 12:58:32 -0700

Miami Marlins OF Christian Yelich is not in the starting lineup Thursday, Aug. 27. OF Derek Dietrich is starting in left field and batting sixth against Pittsburgh Pirates SP Gerrit Cole Thursday.

Fantasy Tip: Make sure to avoid Yelich ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) in all formats Thursday. He has turned his season around and has a .303/.337/.404 slash line over 25 games since the All-Star break, but his counting stats are nothing to write home about (six runs, a home run, 10 RBI and six stolen bases). Dietrich ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) draws an unfavorable matchup, and he costs a pretty penny at FantasyScore. So, while he has been playing well of late, you should be able to find better value in his price range.
