Fri, 03 May 2013 06:20:07 -0700 Philadelphia Phillies OF Ben Revere is no longer considered an everyday player. He has been losing time to John Mayberry Jr., and will probably continue to do so. Fantasy Tip: He is battling a finger injury, but the sentiment is that he can play through it if he were producing. He has grounded into five double plays and has just five walks. This isn't good for a R-SB category player. He can probably be dropped in most mixed leagues unless you are a firm believer he'll turn it around.
Thu, 02 May 2013 13:49:26 -0700 Philadelphia Phillies OF Ben Revere (finger) is out of the lineup with a swollen right ring finger Thursday, May 2. He jammed the finger diving back into second base Wednesday, May 1.
Sun, 28 Apr 2013 08:15:58 -0700 Philadelphia Phillies C Carlos Ruiz is batting fifth against the New York Mets Sunday, April 28. OF Ben Revere (quadriceps) remains out of the lineup and 1B Ryan Howard is getting a day off. INF Kevin Frandsen will play first base, INF/OF Freddy Galvis will play left field and OF John Mayberry Jr. will start in center field.
Fri, 26 Apr 2013 15:26:57 -0700 Updating previous reports, Philadelphia Phillies OF Ben Revere (quadriceps) could be out of the lineup all weekend. Fantasy Tip: Keep him on your bench for a little while until he returns and shows signs of breaking out of his early slump.
Fri, 26 Apr 2013 12:42:29 -0700 Philadelphia Phillies OF Ben Revere (quadriceps) is out of the lineup again Friday, April 26. OF John Mayberry Jr. is starting in center field.
Fri, 26 Apr 2013 06:31:13 -0700 Philadelphia Phillies OF Ben Revere (quadriceps) has been battling a sore left quadriceps. Fantasy Tip: Maybe the day off will help him heal up after a sluggish start in what many picked to be an elite candidate in runs and steals.
Thu, 25 Apr 2013 16:11:57 -0700 Philadelphia Phillies OF Ben Revere did not start Thursday, April 25, against the Pittsburgh Pirates for the first time this season. OF Ezequiel Carrera made the start in his absence and was hitless in four at-bats with a pair of strikeouts. Fantasy Tip: Revere is batting just .207 on the season with 14 strikeouts in 87 at-bats. However, expect the Phillies to keep pushing him back out there, letting him try to hit his way out of the slump. His fantasy appeal is limited to NL-only formats right now, and he still has some worth in mixed rotisserie formats for his speed potential, although he is crushing owners in batting average.
Sun, 21 Apr 2013 13:36:21 -0700 Philadelphia Phillies 1B Ryan Howard (groin) will return to the starting lineup against the St. Louis Cardinals Sunday, April 21, batting fourth. OF John Mayberry Jr. will start in right field and bat second, with SS Jimmy Rollins leading off. OF Ben Revere remains in the No. 7 spot in the batting order, with C Erik Kratz batting eighth.
Thu, 18 Apr 2013 16:27:27 -0700 Philadelphia Phillies OF Ben Revere has been dropped from the leadoff spot to seventh, SS Jimmy Rollins has moved into the top spot, and INF Freddy Galvis is batting second on Thursday, April 18, against the St. Louis Cardinals. Manager Charlie Manuel is hoping to jump-start an offense that has scored only nine runs in its last five games. "I want to see if I can relax him a little bit and get him going," Manuel said. "To me, our lineup is never set. It's not that he's not going to be back in the leadoff spot some time or hitting second. … I think he has been pressing too much." Fantasy Tip: Fantasy owners should've expected the possibility of shakeups like this. Hopefully, the moves help to get Revere going. He should still opportunities to run -- as long as he gets on base -- since Manuel didn't drop to the eighth spot. It's not yet clear how serious Brown's injury is or whether the Phils would continue to play Galvin in left if Brown missed extended time. Delmon Young (ankle) may factor in here in the next couple of weeks.
Mon, 01 Apr 2013 15:20:34 -0700 Philadelphia Phillies OF Ben Revere is in the leadoff spot for the team's opening day game Monday, April 1, instead of SS Jimmy Rollins. "We'll see how long I give it," manager Charlie Manuel said. "I come to the ballpark to win. I don't have to put a time on it or nothing. I can't tell you if it's going to be five days, 10 days, two days. We'll see. I just felt like that's what I wanted to see. That's how I wanted to put it together." Rollins is hitting behind Revere in the No. 2 hole.
