Blue Jays | Ben Revere down to ninth

Sun, 02 Aug 2015 08:24:08 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays OF Ben Revere will hit ninth in the order Sunday, Aug. 2, against the Kansas City Royals and RHP Edinson Volquez, while SS Troy Tulowitzki returns to the leadoff position.

Fantasy Tip: Revere ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) went 0-for-5 in his Blue Jays debut, but he'll now be in a position to hit in front of the like of Tulo and Josh Donaldson. As long as Revere can start getting on base, is fantasy value will soar.

Blue Jays | Ben Revere destined for bottom of order

Fri, 31 Jul 2015 14:18:34 -0700

Updating an ongoing story, Toronto Blue Jays OF Ben Revere will bat at the bottom of the batting order and platoon in left field, according to manager John Gibbons. Gibbons did not reveal who Revere would platoon with, though.

Fantasy Tip: Don't fret hitting in the bottom of the lineup because Revere ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) will still be batting in front of Toronto's best hitters. He receives a modest upgrade with the move to the Jays, although, he might receive fewer at-bats, which could mitigate the boost his new surroundings provide. It is somewhat of a wait-and-see situation. Expect one of Danny Valencia ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) and Chris Colabello ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) to be the platoon partner.

Phillies | Phils deal Ben Revere to Jays

Fri, 31 Jul 2015 12:47:32 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies OF Ben Revere was traded to the Toronto Blue Jays Friday, July 31, in exchange for Ps Jimmy Cordero and Alberto Tirado, according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: With the departure of Revere, Odubel Herrera ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) should see regular starts in center field and hit atop the Philly lineup. Cody Asche, Jeff Francoeur and Domonic Brown will likely continue to rotation in the corner outfield spots. Philly's offense becomes even weaker without Revere, and opposing pitcher streams against them are more intriguing.

Blue Jays | Toronto to acquire Ben Revere

Fri, 31 Jul 2015 11:16:52 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies OF Ben Revere will be traded to the Toronto Blue Jays Friday, July 31. It's unclear what the Phillies will receive in return.

Fantasy Tip: The Blue Jays are clearly all in in 2015 after trading for Troy Tulowitzki and David Price earlier this week. Expect Revere ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) to hit leadoff in Toronto. Moving from baseball's worst team to the best offensive team in the bigs should do wonders for Revere's fantasy value in all formats. The move will also allow Tulowitzki to return to a lineup spot he's more accustomed to in a run-producing position. Danny Valencia and Chris Colabello figure to lose out on playing time with Revere in the picture.

Fantasy Tip: Revere ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) has been one of the few bright spots for the Phillies in an otherwise dismal season. His fantasy value is sure to be on the rise if he's traded to a contending team, especially in Baltimore with a potent offense in a hitter-friendly ballpark.

Fantasy Tip: The Blue Jays are already the most potent offense in baseball, so adding Revere ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) would just be a cherry on top. It would definitely increase the fantasy value of Revere, too, as he'd be setting the table for an explosive offense.
