Milwaukee Brewers RP Jeremy Jeffress, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim RP Joe Smith and Atlanta Braves RP Chris Withrow are among the bullpen options being monitored by the New York Mets ahead of the trade deadline. The club views adding another reliever as being "more easily attainable" as opposed to a starting pitcher.
Fantasy Tip: It would be a boost for each Withrow and Smith if one were to land on the Mets, at least in leagues that score holds, as both would get more opportunities at such compared to their current employers. Jeffress, however, would receive a huge downgrade, as he would no longer be closing like he does for Milwaukee, and effectively so in that role.

Atlanta Braves SP Casey Kelly was optioned to Class AAA Gwinnett Thursday, May 26. In a corresponding move, RP Chris Withrow was recalled from Gwinnett.
Fantasy Tip: Kelly has made one start and two relief appearances with Atlanta this season with just two strikeouts through 12 innings and a 3.75 ERA. He is a fringe own in cavernous mixed and NL-only leagues when in the majors, but he can be replaced now that he is headed back to Gwinnett.

The Atlanta Braves officially acquired 3B Juan Uribe and RP Chris Withrow from the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for 3B Alberto Callaspo, SP Eric Stults and RP Ian Thomas Wednesday, May 27.
Fantasy Tip: Uribe ($1,700, 3.4% of cap) projects to split third base duties with Chris Johnson ($2,700, 5.4% of cap), and until one of them significantly out performs the other, it'll likely remain a platoon. Niether player offers FantasyScore owners a lot of upside, at this point, and they're low-end third base options in NL-only and cavernous mixed leagues.

The Los Angeles Dodgers officially acquired 3B Alberto Callaspo, SP Eric Stults and RP Ian Thomas from the Atlanta Braves in exchange for 3B Juan Uribe and RP Chris Withrow Wednesday, May 27.
Fantasy Tip: Over his last 574 plate appearances, Callaspo ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) is sporting an uninspiring .219/.291/.282 slash line, so his fantasy value is minimal. However, his arrival in Los Angeles continues the third base playing time battle. Justin Turner ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) has hit a 9-for-38 skid since May 5, and at that time he was sporting an unsustianably high 1.064 OPS for the season. Alex Guerrero ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) cannot gain any traction on consistent playing time, but has a .313/.348/.687 slash line through 89 plate appearances this season. Guerrero has the best bat, but his defense at third base is holding him back. FantasyScore players should be careful with Callaspo and Turner until they bounce back at the dish. Guerrero is always in play for daily lineups when starting, though.

The Los Angeles Dodgers recalled SS Miguel Rojas from the minors Friday, June 6, and moved RP Chris Withrow (elbow) to the 60-day disabled list.
Fantasy Tip: Rojas will simply provide the Blue with middle infield depth off the bench. He can be ignored in all leagues.
