The Los Angeles Dodgers optioned RP Chris Withrow (back, shin) to minor league camp Wednesday, March 20. He was delayed in camp for three weeks with back spasms, and he was injured in his last outing after a ball was hit off his left shin.

Los Angeles Dodgers P Chris Withrow (back, shin) had his Cactus League spring debut delayed three weeks due to back spasms. He made his debut Sunday, March 17, and was hit by a line drive off the left shin. Withrow suffered a bruise, and said he expects to be back in action in a couple of days.

Updating a previous report, Los Angeles Dodgers RP Chris Withrow (back) said Sunday, Feb. 17, that he expects to be sidelined a few days due to back spasms he suffered Friday, Feb. 15, during his bullpen session. He has had two previous episodes with a bulging disk that have sidelined him for extended periods. "I don't think I made the existing injury worse," Withrow said.

Los Angeles Dodgers SP Chris Withrow is being converted from a starting pitcher to a reliever, and 3B Pedro Baez is making the transition to a hard-throwing relief pitcher. "They put him on the mound in instructional league and that fastball is really strong," pitching coach Rick Honeycutt said of Baez, who turns 25 next month. "You talk about Kenley when you see the ball come out of his hand. He hasn't been overwhelmed by thinking too much about pitching. He just sees the glove and throws it and that's kind of refreshing."

The Los Angeles Dodgers officially announced the names of their minor leaguers invited to next week's winter camp. While OF Yasiel Puig will not be in attendance, Ps Zach Lee, Chris Reed and Chris Withrow will be there, as well as the team's 2012 minor league player of the year, OF Joc Pederson.

Jonathan Mayo, of MLB.com, reports Los Angeles Dodgers P Chris Withrow (elbow) has been working with strength and conditioning coach Brendan Huttman and his arm seems to be recovering nicely. Withrow was the team's No. 1 draft pick in 2007.
