Cleveland Indians 1B Beau Mills, OF Jerad Head and P Josh Tomlin were charged with felonious assault in a criminal complaint stemming from a June 3 fight at a bar in Akron, Ohio, The Associated Press reports.

The Cleveland Indians announced the team optioned RP Jeanmar Gomez, RP Hector Rondon, C Carlos Santana and OF Jordan Brown to Triple-A Columbus. IF Carlos Rivero and OF Nick Weglarz was optioned to Double-A Akron. IF Beau Mills was reassigned to minor league camp.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer's Paul Hoynes reports seven players have been extended spring training invites by the Cleveland Indians. P's Alex White, Frank Herrmann and Yohan Pino, 3B Lonnie Chisenhall, 1B Beau Mills, C Damaso Espino and IF Niuman Romero are the seven selected.

P Hector Rondon and C Carlos Santana were optioned to Double-A Akron. P Jack Cassel, P David Huff, C Armando Camacaro, 1B Jordan Brown, 3B Wes Hodges, IF Jesus Merchan, IF Beau Mills and OF Stephen Head were reassigned to the minor leagues.

Paul Hoynes, of The Cleveland Plain Dealer, reports Cleveland Indians OF prospect Beau Mills, a No.1 pick in 2007, received the Lou Boudreau Award as the top minor league position player in the organization. Mills just finished playing first base and left field in the Arizona Fall League. At Class A Kinston, he hit .293 (141-for-482) with 78 runs, 34 doubles, three triples, 21 homers and 90 RBIs.
