San Francisco Giants LHP Madison Bumgarner (finger) had three pins removed from his injured left hand on Thursday, April 19. Manager Bruce Bochy commented that Bumgarner is "probably two weeks" away from being able to play catch.

Updating previous reports, San Francisco Giants LHP Madison Bumgarner (hand) said he would miss at least four to six weeks after sustaining a fracture of the fifth metacarpal on his pitching hand. A pin will be inserted into his hand to provide stability Saturday, March 24, and he will be unable to throw a baseball until it is removed. Bumgarner will then need a few additional weeks in order to build up arm strength before he can return to action.
