Baltimore Orioles C Matt Wieters (foot) returned to the lineup Monday, July 25, against the Colorado Rockies after missing six games. He was hitless in four at-bats with a strikeout.
Fantasy Tip: Give Wieters at least one more game to shake off the rust and prove his health in a full game without any setbacks before trusting him in fantasy again.

Baltimore Orioles C Matt Wieters (knee) is starting behind the plate and batting sixth against Colorado Rockies SP Jorge De La Rosa Monday, July 25.
Fantasy Tip: Wieters hasn't registered an extra-base hit in July and owns a disastrous .319 OPS. In single-catcher leagues, you need better production than that. Wieters has plenty of upside, but he isn't a must-own backstop at this point, either.

Baltimore Orioles SS J.J. Hardy and C Matt Wieters (foot) remain out of the starting lineup against Cleveland Indians SP Corey Kluber Sunday, July 24. INF Ryan Flaherty will bat seventh and play shortstop and C Caleb Joseph will start behind the plate and bat eighth. In addition, OF Julio Borbon is back in left field and will hit ninth.
Fantasy Tip: Flaherty is 5-for-11 versus Kluber in his career, while Joseph is 7-for-19 over the past week following a slow start at the plate this year. Both players are worth considering as inexpensive fliers in daily fantasy games.

Baltimore Orioles C Matt Wieters (foot) could return Monday, July 25, manager Buck Showalter said.
Fantasy Tip: Wieters was slumping prior to the injury, but he is worth waiting on in deeper mixed and AL-only formats.

Updating a previous report, Baltimore Orioles C Matt Wieters (foot) could catch if needed Friday, July 22.
Fantasy Tip: This should line Wieters up to return soon. He's struggling to string together a solid run and sits with a mediocre 25 runs, nine home runs, 38 RBI and a .250/.306/.403 slash line. There's upside, but currently, Wieters isn't a must-start backstop in single-catcher leagues.

Baltimore Orioles C Matt Wieters (foot) is not in the starting lineup Friday, July 22. C Caleb Joseph is starting behind the plate and batting eighth against Cleveland Indians SP Trevor Bauer Friday.
Fantasy Tip: Wieters hasn't played since Monday, July 18, and he's struggled of late with a 1-for-23 run at the plate through his past eight games. Wieters isn't a must-own backstop in single-catcher formats. Joseph owns a .170/.223/.193 slash line this season and offers no fantasy upside in his current form.
