Thu, 02 May 2013 13:07:01 -0700 The Houston Astros optioned SP Brad Peacock and RP Rhiner Cruz to Triple-A Oklahoma City Thursday, May 2. Fantasy Tip: Don't give up on Peacock just yet. The Astros have said that they are open to letting him reclaim a rotation spot eventually. Now he'll have to prove that he's worthy of being recalled by performing well down on the farm. Don't lose sight of him in AL-only leagues.
Mon, 29 Apr 2013 14:54:57 -0700 Houston Astros SP Brad Peacock is being moved from the starting rotation to the bullpen. Peacock was 1-3 on the year with an 8.44 ERA after giving up five runs and six hits in 3 1/3 innings to the Boston Red Sox over the weekend. He has gone 4 1/3 frames or less in each of his four starts this year. Manager Bo Porter is hoping that Peacock gains some confidence so he can return to the rotation at some point this season. Ps Paul Clemens, Travis Blackley and Jose Cisnero are all options to replace Peacock in the rotation. Fantasy Tip: The organization has trust that Peacock can return to a starting role, so it might not be wise to give up on him just yet in deep AL-only leagues. Clemens, Blackley and Cisnero should only be picked up for desperate owners in single-universe formats.
Thu, 28 Mar 2013 07:15:04 -0700 The Houston Astros starting rotation is as follows: SPs Bud Norris, Lucas Harrell, Philip Humber, Brad Peacock and Erik Bedard.
Thu, 28 Mar 2013 07:06:00 -0700 Houston Astros SP Brad Peacock has won the fourth spot in the starting rotation. RPs Joshua Fields and Rhiner Cruz have also made the team.
Mon, 25 Mar 2013 12:39:23 -0700 Houston Astros general manager Jeff Luhnow has hinted that SP Erik Bedard will be in the starting rotation. SPs Alex White and Brad Peacock are fighting for the No. 5 spot. Fantasy Tip: Bedard can still post decent strikeout numbers when he's healthy, but the rest of his peripherals can hurt you, especially in the American League West. Reserve him for AL-only formats.
Mon, 25 Mar 2013 12:30:32 -0700 Houston Astros SPs Brad Peacock and Alex White, RP Xavier Cedeno, INF Matt Dominguez, C Carlos Corporan and OFs Justin Maxwell, Brandon Barnes, Chris Carter and Fernando Martinez were told that they have made the roster. Ps Jose Valdez and Kevin Chapman, INFs Brandon Laird and Jose Martinez and C Rene Garcia will be sent to the minors. P Chia-Jen Lo was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Wed, 20 Mar 2013 12:11:09 -0700 The Houston Astros optioned SPs Jordan Lyles and John Ely to Triple-A Oklahoma City Wednesday, March 20. Ps Alex White, Brad Peacock, Edgar G. Gonzalez and Erik Bedard are now battling for the final two spots in the starting rotation. Gonzalez is likely to be used in long relief. Lyles had given up 36 hits and 23 earned runs in just 11 2/3 spring innings. Fantasy Tip: Lyles was working on some things this spring as he matures as a pitcher. Don't write him off after he made significant command gains at the end of last season. He'll be back. Peacock is probably the most intriguing pitcher in the competition for a roster spot and should be given a look in deep NL leagues.
Sun, 10 Mar 2013 19:54:17 -0700 Houston Astros SP Brad Peacock allowed two hits and a walk with two strikeouts over three scoreless innings in his Grapefruit League spring start against the Philadelphia Phillies Sunday, March 10. The outing impressed managed Bo Porter. "Peacock was pretty good," Porter said. "He attacked the strike zone. It was firm. It had late life and he did a really good job for three solid innings."
Tue, 19 Feb 2013 12:05:33 -0800 Houston Astros SP Brad Peacock has caught the attention of manager Bo Porter in spring camp. "It was down in the zone," Porter said. "Those guys (the group that pitched Tuesday) had their last live day, so they mixed in their breaking stuff and his breaking ball was good, changeup was good and his fastball was explosive with late life. It was good to see."
Mon, 04 Feb 2013 15:11:00 -0800 The Houston Astros have traded SS Jed Lowrie and P Fernando Rodriguez to the Oakland Athletics for 1B Chris Carter, P Brad Peacock and C Max Stassi.
