Rangers | Hilligoss regaining strength

Brian Nielsen, of the Times-Courier, reports Texas Rangers SS Mitchell Hilligoss (hand) is trying to regain his hitting form after suffering a broken hand in August of last year. "The hand is good," Hilligoss said. "I've been down (in St. Louis) hitting and the strength is coming back. Hopefully, by the time I get to Spring Training it will be 100 percent."

Tyler Kepner, of The New York Times, reports New York Yankees SS Mitchell Hilligoss went 0-for-4 Sunday, June 3, ending his 38-game hitting streak for Class A Charleston. Hilligoss' 38-game streak set a new South Atlantic League record and was the longest streak in the minor leagues since Orlando Moreno had a 43-game streak for Class AA Louisville in 1961.

Marc Jimenez, of MiLB.com, reports New York Yankees SS Mitchell Hilligoss hit safely in his 36th straight game Wednesday, May 30, for Class A Charleston, taking the outright hitting streak record in the South Atlantic League. Hilligoss is one more hit away from the longest hitting streak in the minors over the last two decades, when former IF Joey Cora hit safely in 37 straight games for Triple-A Las Vegas in 1989.

Alan Friedman, of MiLB.com, reports New York Yankees SS Mitchell Hilligoss has hit safely for the last 34 games at Class A Charleston. His 34-game hit streak leads the minor leagues this season and is one hit away from the South Atlantic League record of 35 set by current Florida Marlins 3B Scott Seabol in 1999.
