St. Louis Rams OG Robert Turner has impressed the team with his excellent play at left guard this season. "He's been better than solid," one team source said of Turner, who is operating on a one-year, $700,000 deal and is a good bet to be re-signed this offseason. "He's very tenacious and very smart. Ideally, though, he'd be the first inside guy off the bench."

St. Louis Rams C Scott Wells (foot) will be coming off Injured Reserve this week, but head coach Jeff Fisher wouldn't commit to Wells being active in Week 12. It's unknown if OG Robert Turner will move from center to left guard when Wells returns, or if the team leaves OG Shelley Smith at left guard.

However, he didn't participate in the team's three-day rookie camp after reporting overweight and out of shape. That means three competitors - OLs Bryan Mattison, Robert Turner and Quinn Ojinnaka - are in the mix for the starting job.
