The Boston Herald reports New England Patriots WR Tony Simmons, despite having a solid showing in NFL Europe, is probably headed out of New England. Young WRs Shockmain Davis, Dane Looker and Curtis Jackson will also be fighting for roster spots on the team. As reported, Terry Glenn's future is very much up in the air because of his off-the-field issues. The Patriots are still hoping one of their veteran WRs can step up as the No. 2 should Glenn return, as that would allow them to move Troy Brown to the slot-receiver slot on a full-time basis.

With the recent additions the Patriots made in WRs Charles Johnson and Torrance Small, the receiving depth for the Patriots became quite deep and it's unlikely all the players will make the final cut. The team also added WRs Bert Emanuel and David Patten via free agency earlier this year and have a handful of youngsters in Simmons, Shockmain Davis, Curtis Jackson and Dane Looker.
