Mike Sando reports for the Tacoma News Tribune tonight's pre-season game should begin to reveal some key answers for the Seattle Seahawks. The first big question is who will be the team's No. 2 QB, Brock Huard or Trent Dilfer. Coach Mike Holmgren stopped short of saying the No. 2 job will be determined tonight, but Dilfer could go a long way toward securing the job with a solid performance during his extended playing time tonight. The team will closely watch current starting CBs Ken Lucas and Ike Charlton to determine if they need to pursue another CB through free agency or off the waiver wire. A third question is how well will starting WRs Koren Robinson and James Williams play.

Ira Miller reports for the San Francisco Chronicle 49ers WR Jerry Rice reportedly visited the Seattle Seahawks last Friday, met with coach/GM Mike Holmgren and underwent the team's physical exam which he passed. It's the first team he has taken a physical for up to this point in time. The Browns have spoken to his agent, the Lions say they are interested, the Raiders have come up as a perfect fit for Rice, but there has been no other hint of serious interest from another NFL team. The Raiders won't comment publicly, but a team source says there's virtually no chance of Rice coming there, and agent Jim Steiner agrees. Seattle needs a veteran WR to mentor their young group of WRs that includes Darrell Jackson, James Williams, and Karsten Bailey. Rice did not talk about a contract on his visit to Seattle, because the NFL won't permit that until after the 49ers release him. "(Rice) would be good for us for a year or two," Holmgren told The Chronicle.
