Baltimore Orioles OF Steve Pearce will bat second for the third straight game Friday, June 20.
Fantasy Tip: Pearce is hitting .400 in June and is pushing for consistent playing time. The 31-year-old career journeyman could see a spike in run-scoring opportunities if he sticks hitting No. 2. Pearce should be owned in all AL-only leagues and is worth a speculative add in deep mixed leagues.

Baltimore Orioles 1B Steve Pearce, who was placed on release waivers by the team, could be brought back immediately if the Orioles feel it is needed. Although a team usually has to wait 30 days after re-signing a released player before he goes back on the active roster, a rules scenario may allow Baltimore to work around the restriction if Pearce is brought back to fill the roster spot vacated by 1B Chris Davis (oblique).

Updating a previous report, Baltimore Orioles 1B Chris Davis (oblique) left the game early Friday, April 25, because of a left oblique strain.
Fantasy Tip: There is a chance that Davis will have to go on the disabled list because of the injury. Steve Clevenger, Ryan Flaherty or Steve Lombardozzi could handle first base if the team uses someone off their current roster. They could also consider recalling Steve Pearce or Brett Wallace from Triple-A to fill the role. If Davis goes on the DL, none of his replacements likely would be more than AL-only options.

Baltimore Orioles manager Buck Showalter would like to give 2B Jonathan Schoop, who can also play third base, the bulk of his starts at second base. Schoop has been working with coaches on his fielding at the keystone.
Fantasy Tip: Schoop should already be owned in AL-only leagues, and he could become a nice commodity for middle-infield depth in very deep mixed universes if he ends up being a favorite of Showalter's. However, he'll open the season splitting time with Steve Lombardozzi and Steve Pearce.
