Stevens is definitely out for the opener and the team does not know if Mili will be ready by the start of the season to fill in. Heller, who is mainly a blocking tight end, will look to take advantage of the additional playing time to work on his pass catching skills.

Dan Raley, of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, reports Seattle Seahawks head coach Mike Holmgren showed his displeasure with the tight ends during a drill that involved running a 10-yard curl route. None of the receivers ran far enough to satisfy him and he chastised them for five minutes during the afternoon session. TE Itula Mili did as he was told and Holmgren appeared satisfied, but said, "If you think you're deep enough, go another yard."
