Updating a previous report, Stephen Holder, of the St. Petersburg Times, reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Jerramy Stevens signed a two-year deal that will play him a base salary of $1.265 million in 2009 and $1.425 million in 2010, according to NFL Players Association records. It is not known if Stevens received any bonuses.

Updating a previous report, The Associated Press reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Jerramy Stevens was suspended without pay for the first two games of the 2008 season and fined an additional game check Wednesday, June 4, for violating the league's substance abuse policy. If Stevens violates any more rules between now and the start of the season, his suspension will increase to three games.

"He fits in well," said Brooks. "We as players have no problem with Jerramy. He came in and made his contributions when his number was called. Towards the middle to the later part of the season you started to see him do a lot more. Obviously, he made a couple of plays late in games that we won. He put this team on his back late in some games. Jerramy, in terms of his character on this football team, has really been special for us and it's something we welcome. He was a part of our chemistry. Now things outside of here – we don't judge anybody. We keep an open-arm policy. We don't focus on the negative, we focus on the positive. He's been a positive teammate and I'm looking forward to his second year here with me."

Charlie Campbell, of PewterReport.com, reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Jerramy Stevens likely will be suspended for two games in the 2008 season. The suspension is a result of punishment for the same incident - a DUI arrest and conviction - that prompted the National Football League to suspend Stevens for one game during the 2007 season. Stevens likely will miss the Buccaneers' first two regular season games of the season. Stevens decided to serve the first game of the suspension last year. The NFL had handed down a longer suspension and Stevens chose to serve one game, and appeal the remaining games. According to sources, one of the reasons why Stevens chose to not serve the suspension fully last year was in an effort to help the team on their playoff push.
