Jim Wyatt, of the Tennessean, reports Tennessee Titans director of player development Marcus Robertson was recently presented the Winston and Shell Award for innovation and commitment to Player Development in the NFL. He received the award at the annual Player Development awards dinner in San Diego, where Titans administrative assistant Deana Cavanaugh was also recognized. Robertson was credited for his innovative ideas after the organization had a half-dozen off-the-field incidents involving players last off-season. Robertson and his staff created a "Ladies Summit," a three-part workshop designed to provide the wives and significant others of players both answers and assistance, along with providing ways they could be more involved.

Jim Wyatt, of the Tennessean, reports the Tennessee Titans officially announced Tuesday, August 12 that former Titans FS Marcus Robertson has been hired as director of player development, a position that will allow him to lead players off the field. As director of player development, Robertson will be responsible for assisting players in their transition into and out of the NFL through continuing education, financial education and dealing with family matters through player programs.

The Tennessean reports free agent S Marcus Robertson (Seahawks) has expressed interest in returning to the Tennessee Titans. “We have talked to them a little bit, and I think they are going to evaluate things after the minicamps and see where they are at,” said Robertson’s agent, Mark Bartelstein. “Marcus is definitely going to play this year, and his thought was he’d love it to be back at home here.”
