Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Scott Linehan is not ruling out RB Kevin Smith seeing some action in Week 10 versus the Chicago Bears. "I could see him playing some this game," Linehan said. "The expectation is to get to Sunday and see where we are. The other two guys (Maurice Morris and Keiland Williams) are ready to go. There is a scenario there where Kevin can play for us."

Detroit Lions WR Stefan Logan may see some work at tailback in Week 7 against the Detroit Lions with RB Jahvid Best (concussion) suffering from a concussion. RBs Maurice Morris and Keiland Williams will also see increased action. "We've considered that," offensive coordinator Scott Linehan said. "We use him some (there), and did last year. He's definitely going to be in the mix. I don't know how much he'll get, but I can see him getting a few cracks at it." Logan has three carries for seven yards this year and had 15 for 95 yards last year.

Detroit Lions RB Ronnie Brown, who the team acquired from the Philadelphia Eagles Tuesday, Oct. 18, was not available for practice Wednesday, Oct. 19, but the team feels they can get him up to speed in time for the Week 7. Brown expects to be used in short-yardage and goal-line situations when he gets up to speed with the offense. RBs Maurice Morris and Keiland Williams split repetitions in practice Wednesday.

To start the season, Best likely will share carries with RB Maurice Morris. When RB Kevin Smith (knee) returns 100 percent from a knee injury, he's expected to split time with Best. In both cases, Best likely will get the bulk of the workload. "If you look around the league, some of the best running teams always have a tandem,'' Best said. "I'm sure I do, but most of the time it's a two-back tandem. It's a hard job for one man.''
