PK John Carney is 44 years old and P Jeff Feagles is 42 years old. The last time Feagles was not the oldest player on his team was in 1999.

Paul Schwartz, of the New York Post, reports the New York Giants plan to attempt to keep the ball away from explosive kick returner WR Devin Hester (foot) in their Week 13 game against the Chicago Bears. "We're certainly not going to kick the ball right to him, I can tell you that," Giants P Jeff Feagles said. In addition, Giants PK Lawrence Tynes has been practicing squib kicks on kickoffs as another method of limiting Hester's impact on returns.

Aron Angel, of Giants.com, reports New York Giants WR David Tyree expects P Jeff Feagles to be returning to play for his 19th NFL season. "It's a great joy knowing that (Feagles) came back last year, and it's looking good that we'll have him back for another one," said Tyree, who earned a trip to the Pro Bowl in 2005 and credits a large part of his success on Feagles. "He sounded very positive about it. Like I said, that really helps me out a lot. He's a big reason for my success. When they say Tyree downed a punt inside the six, it's really Feagles' kick."

Feagles has shared his punting duties during training camp with P Travis Dorsch. Feagles added, "I am 40-years-old and the last two years I haven't had a chance to have somebody else in camp. With Travis around here it has helped me to stay off my feet and get my legs underneath me a little bit." As the regular season approaches, Feagles expects to punt a little more.

David Porter, of the Associated Press, reports New York Giants P Jeff Feagles is limiting his workload in training camp to prevent from kicking too much. Feagles compared being a punter to being a pitcher and added, "You just can't kick too many balls or it's counterproductive." Feagles limits himself between 35 and 40 kicks per day, including warmups, while P Travis Dorsch handles some of his workload.

He was scheduled to make $810,000 on his contract, which runs through 2007. Feagles contemplated retirement but now he's on board for this season and maybe next year.

"We all agreed there had to be some give here and there and one of the big ones was Tom understanding the situation, and me giving him my word that while I'm out here I'm going to be training hard and things are going to work out for the best," said Feagles.

Michael Eisen, of Giants.com, reports New York Giants P Jeff Feagles has decided he will not retire and he will return for the 2006 season with the team. Feagles will soon fly to New Jersey to participate in some offseason conditioning program workouts. He will attend the June minicamp and, of course, report on time for training camp in Albany. Unlike the past two seasons, when he was the only punter in camp, the Giants will reduce his workload by using P Travis Dorsch, who is currently punting for the Rhein Fire in NFL Europe.

Feagles has already talked to head coach Tom Coughlin and may be swayed into coming back as long as he receives some perks that will allow him to travel home during the season. "He's got to see what kind of arrangements with Tom that Tom's comfortable with," general manager Ernie Accorsi said.

Feagles considered retiring before last season but returned for his 18th year in the NFL. "I'm not going to comment until I talk to (VP of communications) Pat Hanlon and everybody else (at the Giants)," Feagles said when reached on his cell phone in Arizona. "If and when a decision is made, we'll let you guys know."

Jim Bender, of the Winnipeg Sun, reports CFL P Jon Ryan would like to setup a workout for the New York Giants. Ryan feels Giants P Jeff Feagles is going to retire and that would give him a perfect opportunity to land a job in the NFL. "A big one would be with the New York Giants, because their guy's going to retire," said Ryan, who has also received some interest from the Washington Redskins. Ryan is in no rush to sign anyway because he is not a CFL free agent until Feb. 15.

In exchange for the No. 17 jersey, Burress has agreed to purchase an outdoor kitchen for Feagles' home in Arizona. Feagles will wear jersey No. 18 this season. Burress said he wanted No. 17 because it represented a new beginning for him after five years with the Pittsburgh Steelers (with whom he wore No. 80).

Vinny DiTrani, of the Bergen Record, reports New York Giants P Jeff Feagles (chin, concussion) hopes Philadelphia Eagles LB Jeremiah Trotter will be fined for the shot he gave Feagles in the second quarter in the Sunday, Sept. 12, game. "I think it was an illegal hit, helmet-to-helmet," said Feagles. "I don't mind if it's a legal hit. I'm a player like anyone else." After a review of the game tape, Feagles said that Trotter lined him up for a hit 10-to-15 yards ahead.

New York Giants P Jeff Feagles (chin/concussion) was upset with what he termed a "cheep" hit by Philadelphia Eagles LB Jeremiah Trotter Sunday, Sept. 12, reports Michael Eisen of Giants.com. "I thought it was unnecessary," Feagles said. "I don't mind legal hits. But that (wasn't legal). If he puts his head across my chest and gives me a nice blow like a regular football play, that's fine. But when you blast me in the side of my helmet, I have a problem with that." Feagles suffered a chin laceration and mild concussion on the play.

Updating previous reports, according to Len Pasquarelli of ESPN.com, free agent P Matt Turk (Jets) is scheduled to visit with the Seattle Seahawks. If the coaches feel he still has something left, Turk could sign. This is apparently in response to the inconsistency of P Rodney Williams, who they signed after losing P Jeff Feagles to the New York Giants.
