Wedderburn was moved back to guard. No matter who plays the position in pre-season camp, the job will go back to OT Walter Jones, when he signs.

Clare Farnsworth of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer reports for the Sporting News the Seattle Seahawks may lose RT Todd Weiner via free agency. With the Seahawks he's probably be relegated to being a backup again in 2002 and the team may offer the unrestricted free agent a contract worthy of a backup. Another team may come along and offer Weiner starter's money and a starting job. The Seahawks could possibly move Weiner to right guard to compete with Chris Gray and Floyd Wedderburn.

The Seattle Times reports rookie Ken Lucas has taken the lead over Ike Charlton for the starting right cornerback position for the Seattle Seahawks. The final decision on a starter won't come until after the pre-season, coach Mike Holmgren said. Chris Gray is sharing time with Floyd Wedderburn at right guard and while T Chris McIntosh sits with a stinger, Todd Weiner has taken over at right tackle.

The Seattle Times reports Seattle Seahawks second-year RB Shaun Alexander believes that he'll still see plenty of action this year even if the team keeps RB Ricky Watters, last year's team MVP, on roster. Alexander stated there's enough touches for the two of them to both be productive. In other news, LB Anthony Simmons joined the team at voluntary workouts yesterday. He missed the first two days of action, as did LB Chad Brown, Watters and OG Floyd Wedderburn.

Mike Sando reports for the Tacoma News Tribune that the Seattle Seahawks have made new QB Matt Hasselbeck feel right at home already. He's working with QBs coach Jim Zorn, who is putting a lot of detail into Hasselbeck's fundamentals and mechanics. According to Hasselbeck, it's something new for him as he's used to playing behind QB Brett Favre, who is known not to have the best mechanics in the league but has still been able to put up monster numbers. In other news, WR Kevin Lockett (Chiefs) is expected to visit today. OL Floyd Wedderburn has been excused from the mini-camp due to off-season shoulder surgery.

The Seattle Times reports the Seattle Seahawks have signed free agent CB Nate Terry to a two-year deal. The Seahawks practiced their customary 4-3 defensive scheme yesterday after giving some thought to switching to a 3-4 alignment. G Floyd Wedderburn and LB Anthony Simmons are also not present at the team's four-day voluntary camp. TE Rufus French returned to the field after missing all of the 2000 season while recovering from a knee injury.
