Mike Sando, of the Tacoma News Tribune, reports the Seattle Seahawks will take an $800,000 hit against the 2005 salary cap by releasing DT Cedric Woodard (knee), Tuesday, Aug. 23. For the team's 2006 salary cap, Woodard will account for $2.4 million in "dead money". Those numbers, however, could change should Woodard file a grievance with the team. Woodard was bothered by a lingering knee injury during this year's training camp.
