Eric D. Williams, of the Tacoma News Tribune, reports Seattle Seahawks CB Josh Wilson is the starting cornerback opposite CB Marcus Trufant for now, with CB Ken Lucas being the nickel cornerback. Head coach Jim Mora would not confirm if that would be the plan for Week 10. Lucas had an issue with his neck and his ulnar nerve Week 9, which caused Mora to use CB Kelly Jennings in nickel situations.

Eric Williams, of the Tacoma News Tribune, reports Seattle Seahawks CB Ken Lucas said during a radio interview that he believes he has several good years left in his career and has not played his best yet. "Some people feel like I'm old now age-wise," he said. "But for me, my motivation is to show everybody that I'm not going to let a young guy outwork me, period. I feel like I have a lot of football left in me. I feel like my best is yet to come. So with that being said, I'm only getting better with time. And I feel like I'm faster, quicker, and much wiser than what I used to be when I first went to Carolina."

Updating a previous report, Charles Chandler, of the Charlotte Observer, reports Carolina Panthers general manager Marty Hurney was noncommittal when asked about CB Ken Lucas' future with the team. "Ken is here at this point. I'm not going to get into what we're going to do. I'm going to talk about what we've done. What we're going to do isn't something I want to talk about. We're obviously always working on things and talking about things, but I really would rather comment on what we've done at this point, because anything else is speculation," Hurney said.

The Associated Press reports Carolina Panthers WR Steve Smith and CB Ken Lucas talked trash, argued and generally disliked each other for more than three years, culminating in Smith's sucker-punch at training camp last month that broke the Lucas' nose. Shortly after the incident, Smith and Lucas finally sat down and talked. Smith said it quickly became apparent a lack of communication was behind their problems. "Flat-out, we said it: I thought he didn't like me and he thought I didn't like him," Smith said. "It's plain and simple." Lucas said he has forgiven Smith. "I would think we're friends. I think the conversation we had would indicate we are," Smith said. "There were some frowns going on, some laughing and we talked about a lot of things. I think that was kind of the icebreaker. Hopefully it continues and I think it will."

The two faced off during practice... this time, however, no punches were thrown. Head coach John Fox would not say if Lucas will play in the team's next preseason game.
