New Orleans Saints general manager Mickey Loomis is expected to have a significant role in the NBA's New Orleans Hornets organization in addition to his role with the Saints. Owner Tom Benson recently bought the Hornets and likely will have Loomis oversee the basketball operations.

New Orleans Saints general manager Mickey Loomis said he isn't taking any of franchise free-agent QB Drew Brees' recent complaints about the slow pace of contract negotiations personally; however, Loomis added a new deal must benefit both sides. "I feel for him. I feel with him. He wants to be here right now. I want him to be here right now and we'll work hard to get that accomplished," Loomis said. "It's important to Drew, but it's important to our team. The magnitude of this contract is going to impact our team for a long period of time, so we've got to get it right. It's got to be right for Drew, but it's got to be right for our team as well."

A joint Louisiana state police and FBI task force is investigating allegations that the New Orleans Saints set up general manager Mickey Loomis' booth in the Superdome so he could listen in on opposing coaches.

New Orleans Saints general manager Mickey Loomis is being accused of having the ability of eavesdropping on opposing coaches at the Superdome between the 2002 season and 2004 season. The U.S. Attorney's Office in the Eastern District of Louisiana has acknowledged they have received allegations of Loomis having a listening device in his suite.

Updating a previous item, former NFL head coach Bill Parcells said Wednesday, April 11, that he talked to suspended New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton and general manager Mickey Loomis about the team's interim opening for 2012 but he's enjoying his life away from the sidelines and will stay retired. "I've been out quite a while now. I have another life. I'm very happy with that," Parcells said.
