Atlanta Braves RP Craig Kimbrel pitched a perfect ninth inning and struck out two against Florida Marlins Wednesday, Sept. 14, for his major league-leading 44th save in 49 tries. RP Eric O'Flaherty lowered his ERA to 1.05 in the game, which is the best among relievers in the bigs.

The Atlanta Braves have three of the nine relievers in the National League that have 70-plus innings this year, RPs Craig Kimbrel, Jonny Venters and Eric O'Flaherty. Kimbrel leads all closers in innings with 71 2/3. Manager Fredi Gonzalez is hoping to avoid these pitchers as much as he can down the stretch.

Atlanta Braves RP Eric O'Flaherty retired the only two batters he faced Friday, July 29, picking up his 20th hold and lowering his ERA to a minuscule 0.91. O'Flaherty is working on a 22-inning scoreless streak over 25 appearances dating back to June 1.

Atlanta Braves RP Eric O'Flaherty (back) continues to battle back discomfort, but manager Fredi Gonzalez said Sunday, June 19, that he doesn't foresee having to place the pitcher on the 15-day disabled list any time soon. "Just going from my experiences from the last time, it's three or four days, then he's good," Gonzalez said. He has pitched just once in the past six games, and hasn't appeared since June 15.

Atlanta Braves RP Eric O'Flaherty (back) said he has been feeling "pretty good" after his back flared up twice in a span of five days in the past week. "I expect to have a flare up here or there every season, one or two little things, but for the most part it hasn't really bothered me too much," O'Flaherty said.

Atlanta Braves RP Eric O'Flaherty (back) has been held out of action for the last two days as a precautionary measure because of tightness in his back, according to David O'Brien of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He is expected to pitch Sunday, March 13.
