The Tennessee Titans could be a potential landing spot for Seattle Seahawks impending free-agent QB Matt Hasselbeck. There are many Seahawks ties currently in the Titans' front office, which could attract Hasselbeck. General manager Mike Reinfeldt, vice president of player personnel Ruston Webster and director of pro scouting Lake Dawson all spent time in Seattle, where Hasselbeck has played the past 10 years. New offensive coordinator Chris Palmer said that his relationship with Hasselbeck goes back more than two decades. Hasselbeck could not only be a starter but also a mentor to QB Jake Locker.

Tennessee Titans general manager Mike Reinfeldt thinks there will be a frenzy of draft picks being traded during the NFL Draft, according to NFL.com. Teams cannot trade players, but they can still trade their draft picks. "For some reason, I think there's probably going to be a little bit more (trading), but I can't really tell you why," Reinfeldt said. "I just have a gut (feeling) that people are kind of anxious to do something and say, 'What the heck? Let's make a few trades.'"

However, the team has not made any formal contract offers as of yet to Haynesworth.

Jim Wyatt and Gary Estwick, of the Tennessean, reports the Tennessee Titans have exclusive negotiating rights with DT Albert Haynesworth until Feb. 27. The team and Haynesworth's agent, Chad Speck, were allowed to begin discussions Monday, Dec. 29. Head coach Jeff Fisher said, "Clearly, we have expressed a great deal of interest, as he has, in working things out. But the most important thing right now is the playoffs and getting him ready, getting him back on the practice field and getting him ready to play at the level he was before he got hurt." Speck said Titans general manager Mike Reinfeldt called him Monday. Speck added, "We had a preliminary discussion and our talks are in the very early stages."

"I think we have an opportunity to get veteran depth at a number of positions. I think the safety position, the linebacker position, you know, there's still some players that can help make us better. I think what we need to do is to get more competition at different positions and also to ensure that if we get someone hurt, we have a veteran that can step in and play and we don't have a big drop-off. So that will be kind of the goal in the next couple weeks in free agency."

Paul Kuharsky, of the Tennessean, reports the Tennessee Titans could be looking at adding a wide receiver in the first round of the NFL Draft. The Titans own the 19th pick overall. "The good thing is there are real playmakers in the draft and even at 19 we may be in position to take a guy that could be a playmaker," general manager Mike Reinfeldt said. The team may also look at selecting a defensive end or a cornerback in the first round.
