"That's the one thing that I'm eager to prove, is that doesn't necessarily go for every player. Turn 30, that doesn't mean that you can't play any more. There are some guys out there that defy the odds, and I'm eager to prove that," Tomlinson said.

"L.T. looks great," head coach Norv Turner said. "He has been out here running for a month, so he didn't show anything different." Tomlinson added, "No, I wasn't restricted and I did everything. Of course you are always concerned because it is the first time back on the field and especially after being injured. But I wasn't restricted at all and it was great."

Tomlinson is due a $2 million roster bonus in March 2010, which means the team will have to decide by then if they want to keep him. Even if Tomlinson is released, $1 million of his $3 million 2010 salary is guaranteed. There is a possible $2 million in incentives in 2010. His 2011 salary is $6.150 million. The Chargers save $1.4 million in cap space in 2010 and $2.5 million in 2011.

Tomlinson noted the New Orleans Saints, Baltimore Ravens and Denver Broncos were all teams that would have made sense had he left San Diego. Tomlinson, who feels he will run for a lot of yards this year, is happy to share touches with RB Darren Sproles, as he feels it will help both of them.

Sports, reports San Diego Chargers RB LaDainian Tomlinson will be able to earn the $6.725 million he was scheduled to make in the 2009 season. That was previously his salary under the old deal, but the new deal will consist of both base salary and part signing bonus. He also reworked the final two years of his previous deal. He will reduce his base salaries of $8 million (2010) and $9.275 million (2011). Through incentives, he will be able to earn the money back. Some of it is also being converted to a roster bonus in March 1010, which will give the Chargers an easier decision on whether to keep him.
