Minnesota Vikings DL Brian Robison was nicked up for most of the season, but he still managed to be very productive. Robison played 887 of 1,198 gradable defensive snaps (74 percent) over 16 starts at left end. He posted a career-high 8.5 sacks while registering 56 quarterback pressures. He also matched a career best with three forced fumbles, all on strip-sacks. Robison might be a candidate for a contract extension next season.

Updating a previous report, Minnesota Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier said Friday, Dec. 21, that he wants to see how the shoulder of DL Brian Robison (shoulder) responds to his limited workout Friday before deciding on his status for the Week 16 game against the Houston Texans. "He feels better," Frazier said. "We'll talk a little more about how we want to proceed with him. But he did enough in practice (Friday) to create some encouragement amongst our staff and his teammates as well."

Robison injured his left elbow in Week 2 and has been wearing a large brace on his arm. "Not a whole lot of concern," head coach Leslie Frazier said Wednesday, Oct. 17. "He's still playing at a high level. May not have gotten the numbers from a sacks standpoint, but he's getting good pressure on the quarterback and hasn't really complained about not being able to do the job and you don't see it on tape. After backing up Minnesota Vikings DL Ray Edwards the past three seasons, DL Brian Robison wants to start - and he knows that probably means Edwards has to go. Edwards is looking to be paid more than the $14.1 million Robison received. "He deserves that payday, and at the same time, I feel like I deserve the right to start," Robison said. "I feel like I've fought every year for that right to start and haven't really got the shot that I deserve yet, and hopefully, now I'll get that shot and he'll go get his payday and we'll all be happy."

"I've openly said I won't play for the Vikings, because of the simple fact of my backup (DL Brian Robison) is getting paid 70 more percent than I am - there's no way I can do that to myself.
