John Mullin, of the Chicago Tribune, reports Chicago Bears head coach Lovie Smith feels rookie LB Michael Okwo is the prototype he is looking for at weakside linebacker. "Most of the guys are at about 6 feet, they move, they have some defensive back skills as far as hip moves, change of direction, and they have a little bit of strength. He is the prototype that we are looking for, was sideline to sideline in college, and we're hoping he'll do the same for us," Smith said.

Gil Brandt, of NFL.com, reports Stanford LB Michael Okwo measured a height of 5-foot-11 3/8 and a weight of 231 pounds at his Pro Day. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.70 seconds and 4.65 seconds, the short shuttle in 4.54 seconds and the three-cone drill in 7.25 seconds. He also measured a 10-foot-1 broad jump.

During his NFL Combine interview, Stanford LB Michael Okwo measured a height of 5-11 and a weight of 232 pounds. During the interview, Okwo was asked what he brings to a team. "I can diagnose plays pretty well. I'm very comfortable in the inside linebacker position. I have great instincts. I think those are probably my main strengths," Okwo responded. He feels he is more accustomed to the inside linebacker position.
