Mon, 04 Nov 2013 16:02:58 -0800
Green Bay Packers WR James Jones (knee) is active for the team's Week 9 game.
Fantasy Tip: Jones should start if owners have the chance to use him this week. His availability likely will cut into Jarrett Boykin's targets, but Boykin should still be in starting lineups.
Sun, 03 Nov 2013 08:48:52 -0800
The Green Bay Packers believe WR James Jones (knee) will be able to play in their Week 9 game.

Green Bay Packers WR James Jones (knee) was limited during practice Saturday, Nov, 2, and is listed as questionable for Week 9.
Fantasy Tip: There appears to be a chance that Jones will be able to play this week, but owners will have to check the inactive list before the game. Since the team plays Monday, owners likely have better options at the position that will play. Jones probably would be a risky start for owners thinking of playing him.

Fantasy Tip: It looks like Jones may have a tough time making it back for the Week 9 game against the Chicago Bears Monday night. It'd be extremely risky to leave him in your starting lineup. Jarrett Boykin remains a nice flex option with Jones out.

Green Bay Packers WR Jarrett Boykin posted 103 receiving yards in the Week 7 game against the Cleveland Browns. He entered the game with just 70 career receiving yards, but saw plenty of action with injuries to WRs Randall Cobb (leg) and James Jones (knee) inactive.
Fantasy Tip: Boykin should continue to be in the mix for targets in the Green Bay offense, especially with TE Jermichael Finley (head) also leaving the game Sunday due to a head injury. Boykin is worth a look as a WR4 or flex play in most fantasy formats.

Green Bay Packers WR James Jones (knee) did not participate in practice Friday, Oct. 18, and is listed as questionable for Week 7.
Fantasy Tip: Jones was not able to practice this week, so there is a good chance he sits out the game. If Jones is not able to play, Jarrett Boykin likely will have bigger role in the passing game and could be a flex option for fantasy owners. If Jones is able to play, he should not be considered more than a risky flex option because of the injury.
Thu, 17 Oct 2013 15:00:23 -0700
Green Bay Packers WR James Jones (knee) did not practice Thursday, Oct. 17.
Fantasy Tip: A second straight day of missed practice for Jones doesn't bode well for his chances of suiting up in Week 7. Jarrett Boykin will be present in Green Bay's three-wide sets against the Cleveland Browns. He's more of a desperation play if your starting wideouts are either injured or on bye.

Tue, 15 Oct 2013 15:30:25 -0700
Green Bay Packers TE Jermichael Finley may line up as a wide receiver starting in Week 7 against the Cleveland Browns with WR Randall Cobb (fibula) on the Injured Reserve and WR James Jones' (knee) availability in question.
Fantasy Tip: Cobb will be out until the final month of the season, so Finley's usage and targets will go up rather significantly, assuming Green Bay doesn't shift to a heavy run-centric game. Jarrett Boykin deserves consideration as a waiver wire addition; he'll be lined up often in the team's three-receiver sets without Cobb around.
Mon, 14 Oct 2013 13:22:27 -0700
Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy said WR Randall Cobb (knee) will miss several weeks because of the knee injury he suffered Week 6.
Fantasy Tip: With Cobb missing time, Jarrett Boykin and Jermichael Finley likely will receive bigger roles in the passing game. Owners in deeper leagues could consider adding Boykin as a flex option. Finley was performing well before Cobb's injury, but now should be seen as a safe starting tight end option each week. James Jones could also see a bump in value depending on when he will be able to return from his injury.
Mon, 14 Oct 2013 12:39:21 -0700

Green Bay Packers TE Jermichael Finley (toe) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 11. Head coach Mike McCarthy said he is not sure if Finley will be able to practice Thursday, Sept. 12.

Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson (knee) has undergone surgery on his knee and will miss the rest of training camp, according to head coach Mike McCarthy. The club is hoping he'll be ready for the season opener, though.
Fantasy Tip: This is troubling news because he'll miss the rest of training camp and possibly won't be ready to play in Week 1. This'll drop his draft stock a bit and raise the significance of James Jones, at least early in the year until we have a clear timetable of when Nelson will be ready to go. Randall Cobb is dealing with a minor injury in camp, but his looks will go up if Nelson isn't ready in Week 1.

Green Bay Packers WR James Jones finished with a league-high 14 touchdown receptions in 2012, and he heads into the final season of a three-year, $9.6 million contract.
Fantasy Tip: Jones will be playing with quite a bit of incentive in 2013, trying to get that pay day after the season. He is a fantastic WR2/3 or flex fantasy option heading into the new season.

Green Bay Packers WR James Jones said he believes he, WR Randall Cobb and WR Jordy Nelson could all post 1,000-yard seasons in 2013. Green Bay Packers WR James Jones said he likes the trio of himself, WR Jordy Nelson and WR Randall Cobb heading into the 2013 season, even if impending free-agent WR Greg Jennings signs elsewhere. "I can see me, Jordy and Randall getting about 80 catches apiece. I can see us all having over 1,000 yards," Jones said. He added it is doubtful a receiver on the team would catch 100 balls, only because QB Aaron Rodgers likes to spread the football around.

Thu, 20 Dec 2012 11:27:53 -0800
Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers thinks WR James Jones is having a career year because he's more focused since becoming a father. "The numbers speak for themselves. Leading the league in touchdown catches is pretty impressive, 12. I think it's on 50-something catches (51), so just about 1 of every 4, almost 5, he's getting in the end zone," said Rodgers. "It's pretty impressive. He's really improved a lot. The greatest compliment for him is he probably is not going to mind too much being overlooked." Rodgers said Jones has seemed more dialed in ever since the birth of his child, and he's getting open when it counts, down in the red zone.

Green Bay Packers WR James Jones, who doesn't have a single dropped pass this season, said his penchant for dropping passes during the 2010 season likely cost him a hefty payday on the open market. Other teams told him they didn't want to sign him because of his dropped passes. "They didn't feel like I could catch a ball," Jones said. "They didn't feel like my hands were good enough. . . . When I play those teams, I have a little bone to pick with them." Jones has 40 catches for 462 yards and eight touchdowns this season.
Thu, 01 Nov 2012 06:31:58 -0700
Green Bay Packers WR James Jones is on pace for career highs in receptions (72), yards (802), and touchdowns (14) this season. Jones said the secret to his success has been his ability to stay focused during games. Jones talks to himself on the field; he literally yells at himself between snaps. "Focus! Stay Focused!" Jones has suffered from drops in his career; however, this season he does not have a drop in 57 targets. "In the past I've had games where I caught balls early and I would lose focus at the end," said Jones. "And the other way around. So I'm constantly talking to myself the whole game."

Sun, 14 Oct 2012 22:33:40 -0700
Green Bay Packers WR James Jones pulled down three balls for 33 yards and two touchdowns in Week 6 against the Houston Texans.

One of the most glaring weaknesses for the Green Bay Packers offense so far this season has been production after receptions. WRs Greg Jennings, Jordy Nelson, James Jones and Randall Cobb all have averaged fewer yards post-catch in the first three games than they did last season. "We've addressed that in our room, especially on those little bubble routes," Nelson said. "Just catch it and get vertical. Definitely get the first downs. Don't try to make a home-run play out of something small."
