Fantasy Tip: Jones' main value to the Ravens is on special teams. He provides a deep threat in the passing game, but his value on a week-to-week basis is usually boom or bust. And the Ravens are surely to add another dynamic receiving threat either in free agency or through the draft.

Thu, 07 Nov 2013 11:32:27 -0800
Baltimore Ravens WR Deonte Thompson could see more action with the team moving to more three-wide receiver sets this year. He caught three passes for 24 yards in Week 9 against the Cleveland Browns. "Deonte is a very good route runner. He can run all the routes outside very effectively. So, when you have a route runner, you like to get him the ball and have him make some plays for you. If people are going to play us the way they're playing us right now, you need a route runner outside to make some plays." Opponents are playing to stop the run and leaving a single high safety and man-on-man coverage on the outside. WR Marlon Brown is also seeing more snap; he was on the field for 56 of the team's 73 offensive plays last week. Brown had 15 more snaps than WR Jacoby Jones.
Fantasy Tip: Keep an eye on Thompson in deeper leagues if he starts being targeted more. Brown is probably the better fantasy target right now, as he's been more heavily involved in the offense all season.
Wed, 16 Oct 2013 06:24:33 -0700
Baltimore Ravens WR Jacoby Jones impressed the team in his Week 6 return and will be utilized more on offense moving forward. "It was great," Ravens coach John Harbaugh said. "Jacoby gave us a speed element out there, and he'll probably play more and more offensively as we go forward."
Fantasy Tip: Monitor his usage, and keep him on your watch list as a bye-week fill-in for now.
Fri, 11 Oct 2013 13:34:50 -0700
Baltimore Ravens WR Jacoby Jones (knee) was limited in practice Friday, Oct. 11, and is questionable for Week 6.
Fantasy Tip: The team is encouraged with Jones' progress, but there's no telling if he'll be active Sunday. Jones is an extremely risky option for any starting lineup.
Fri, 11 Oct 2013 13:27:14 -0700
Baltimore Ravens WR Marlon Brown (thigh) was limited in practice Friday, Oct. 11, and is questionable for Week 6.
Fantasy Tip: No real feel here on whether Brown will be active, but the possible returns of Jacoby Jones (knee) and Brandon Stokley (thigh) don't help his cause. The matchup against the Green Bay Packers is nice, but Brown remains a very risky option.

Updating a previous report, Baltimore Ravens WR Jacoby Jones (knee) will have an MRI on his right knee Friday, Sept. 6. He was injured when he was barreled into by his own player after signaling for a fair catch on a punt return.
Fantasy Tip: The Ravens offense wasn't able to move the ball after Jones went down. Torrey Smith was covered all night, and the tight ends dropped balls all over Mile High. They may look to bring in some outside help.

Denver Broncos CB Champ Bailey (foot) is pessimistic about his chances of suiting up in the team's Week 1 game against the Baltimore Ravens Thursday, Sept. 5, due to a foot sprain. He said Monday, Sept. 2, that he was "very close" to being ready, but he's still "up in the air."
Fantasy Tip: If Bailey doesn't play, they'll be without one of their top corners and pass rushers in Von Miller. That would benefit Joe Flacco and each of his deep-threat options in the passing game, Torrey Smith and Jacoby Jones. Smith is a must-start for this reason, and Jones makes for a decent flex play, at least, in standard formats.
Wed, 07 Aug 2013 09:02:34 -0700
Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco is confident the team will overcome the offseason departure of WR Anquan Boldin, and loss of TE Dennis Pitta (hip) to injury. WR Jacoby Jones is expected to see plenty of opportunity on the outside with WR Torrey Smith, and Flacco mentioned WRs Tandon Doss and Deonte Thompson as candidates who could step up on the inside. "I think the one thing that Deonte gives you that you normally don't have in the middle is that speed," Flacco said. "Normally, those guys are on the outside. He gives you that speed in there. Tandon is that real strong-handed guy that can go up and make some catches for you. He's got a good feel for how to run the routes in there."
Thu, 25 Jul 2013 10:08:24 -0700
Baltimore Ravens WR Jacoby Jones is the favorite to win the battle for the No. 2 wide receiver job in training camp as he competes with WRs Tandon Doss and Deonte Thompson.
Fantasy Tip: Jones is similar to Torrey Smith in that he's a speedster that presents a serious deep threat to opposing defenses. Without Anquan Boldin in the picture, Doss could become the team's possession receiver, making him a nice sleeper in point-per-reception formats. Jones makes for a better buy in standard leagues.
Thu, 25 Jul 2013 08:15:26 -0700

Tue, 23 Jul 2013 17:48:10 -0700
Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said Tuesday, July 23, that he isn't too concerned about WR Jacoby Jones and his inability to pass the conditioning test, although he wasn't making excuses for the veteran either. "He should pass it, but he's battling. We'll see - it's up to him. It's his job to do. That's the facts. Facts are stubborn things," Harbaugh said. Jones was placed on the non-football injury list Monday, July 22.

Thu, 20 Jun 2013 09:28:18 -0700
Baltimore Ravens WR Tandon Doss frequently ran with starters Torrey Smith and Jacoby Jones during last week's mandatory minicamp. It's uncertain whether Baltimore will establish Jones as the No. 2 wideout, which would lessen his duties in the return game, which is a strength of his. Doss still needs to prove himself as an everydown wideout despite the fact he's made a few noteworthy plays in camp.
Fantasy Tip: Doss' potential workload increase makes him a late-rounds fantasy sleeper in more voluminous setups.
Fri, 31 May 2013 11:15:52 -0700
Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Jim Caldwell said WR Jacoby Jones is in great shape to have an expanded role in the offense. "He can catch and he can run," Caldwell said.
Fantasy Tip: This could be good news for Jones, especially in PPR leagues. Jones caught the ball 30 times in 2012, and if he can build on that in 2013, his fantasy value will rise. Monitor how he is used in training camp and through the preseason.
Mon, 13 May 2013 15:10:48 -0700
Baltimore Ravens WR Tandon Doss is a candidate for a much bigger role in the team's offense after WR Anquan Boldin was traded to the San Francisco 49ers in the offseason. Doss should compete for playing time behind WRs Torrey Smith and Jacoby Jones and could become the No. 3 receiver. WRs LaQuan Williams, David Reed, Deonte Thompson and Aaron Mellette are the other receiving options that will compete in offseason workouts and training camp. Baltimore is open to signing a veteran wideout to compete in camp, as well.
Doss caught a career-high seven passes for 123 yards and a touchdown in his second year in 2012, and he expects more from himself this year. Doss said he's completely healthy right now and has worked hard on his durability. He missed the last two games of the regular season with an ankle injury and dealt with a hamstring injury during training camp. He's up to 210 pounds and has improved his quickness. "I'm quick and strong and I've got the speed and can outsmart the linebackers, use my quickness and be able to catch the ball," Doss said. "I've always been one of the strongest receivers, just not the widest. I've got a little strength on me. I feel fast and quick. I've put on weight too fast in the past, but now I put it on slow and I've been maintaining my speed and quickness."
Fantasy Tip: Doss is a sleeper heading into the 2013 season. He'll have plenty of opportunities to prove that he deserves to be a big part of this offense, and he could challenge Jones for the No. 2 WR role. Jones shouldn't inspire confidence for a starting role, plus, he's a big part of special teams.
Tue, 07 May 2013 06:14:18 -0700
The Baltimore Ravens will continue to search for a wide receiver this offseason after trading WR Anquan Boldin to the San Francisco 49ers. "I think the hunt goes on," assistant general manager Eric DeCosta said. "We're still working. The roster is not set. We're always evaluating. We're always looking at guys. Guys get signed, guys get cut ... Our pro personnel department looks at all available players and we'll make a decision at some point of what we want to do at that position. There are definitely some players out there. We'll consider all options." The Ravens are also banking on increased production from several wide receivers, including WR Jacoby Jones.

Mon, 11 Mar 2013 17:51:08 -0700

Sat, 09 Feb 2013 10:12:19 -0800
Baltimore Ravens WR Jacoby Jones said he does not think he deserved the Super Bowl Most Valuable Player award even though he recorded 290 all-purpose yards during the game. "No. I just played my role," Jones said. "I did my job that I was supposed to do. When they call your name, you have to show up and play your role. I played my role. [QB Joe Flacco] deserves it because if you see what he did in that postseason, he threw 11 touchdowns and no picks."
