Allen Wilson, of The Buffalo News, reports Buffalo Bills QB Trent Edwards spent more than 20 minutes following the conclusion of the team's OTA Wednesday, May 27, throwing extra passes to WRs Terrell Owens and Lee Evans. The three are trying to get their timing down better. "I think it's very, very important, especially for me being new to the system," Owens said. Owens, who admitted he is still making some mistakes, added the two are trying to get a sense of chemistry and he is trying to get used to how Edwards throws the ball. Edwards encouraged the extra work due to some sloppy play during the OTA.

Giving Edwards that kind of freedom, according to Brown, is one indication how much faith the coaching staff is putting in Edwards' ability to process what is going on out on the field before the snap.

"I think so, because Trent is a listener. He's going to take it all in. If T.O. decides to go to fussing, he's not going to be that guy to fuss back and make a big thing. He's just going to take it all in and go from there," Peters said.

"I feel like he's one of those guys that uses his lower body really well when he throws the football and that's something that I'm trying to do now," Edwards said. "I need to be able to maintain my body for a 17-week schedule, and I also want to get my lower body to where it needs to be, so I'm hoping to be in touch with him, and trying to be that type of player."

The Associated Press reports Buffalo Bills QB Trent Edwards asked the team to add WR Terrell Owens when he heard Owens had been released from the Dallas Cowboys. When he heard Owens was available, Edwards sent a text message to Bills general manager Russ Brandon that read, "What about T.O.?" Edwards said Monday, March 9, "I was excited. I was very surprised that it happened. I respect football players that have such a passion and desire to win football games."

Although the shoulder problem isn't considered serious, Edwards is just trying to make sure the shoulder isn't developing a problem that will affect him in 2009. He should know by next week whether he will need an operation.
