Mark Curnutte, of the Cincinnati Enquirer, reports the Cincinnati Bengals will not likely take a tight end on the first day during the 2007 NFL Draft. The Bengals may look for a tight end in the fourth or fifth round. Possibilities include University of Delaware TE Ben Patrick, Whitworth TE Michael Allan, University of Iowa TE Scott Chandler and Rutgers TE Clark Harris.

Gil Brandt, of NFL.com, reports Whitworth TE Michael Allan measured a height of 6-foot-6 3/4 and a weight of 254 pounds at his Pro Day. He ran the short shuttle in 4.38 seconds and the three-cone drill in 7.37 seconds. He stood on the rest of his numbers from the NFL Combine.

NFL | M. Allan still improving on his blocking

During his NFL Combine interview, Whitworth TE Michael Allan said he measured a height of 6-6 and a weight of 255 pounds. Allan is the only Division III player at the NFL Combine. He was used mostly as a pass-catching tight end with the school and said he can run the 40-yard dash "in the 4.6 (seconds) area." When asked about his blocking, Allan said: "We tried to keep it 50-50. So I have done a lot of run blocking and I have improved, and the nice thing is I'm still improving."
