Titans | Team Notes

Sun, 01 Apr 2001 04:07:14 -0700

Paul Kuharsky reports for the Tennessean the presence of Kevin Carter and Jevon Kearse at defense end should open up the middle for the bevy of defensive tackles on the Tennessee Titans roster. Jason Fisk and John Thornton were the starting tackles last season. DTs Henry Ford and Joe Salave'a often played in clear-cut passing situations. Mix in Robaire Smith, Rod Walker and the possibly returning Josh Evans and the position is one of the deepest on the team. Evans could land elsewhere or Ford, who's got extra value because he can also play defensive end, could be moved because of his salary cap number of $3.08 million. Buffalo reportedly has an interest in Evans, if he is reinstated by the league. Coach Jeff Fisher said he's been pleased with the participation so far in the team's off-season workout program, with the exception of CB Samari Rolle who has not been attending.
