Steve Korte, of the News-Democrat, reports the St. Louis Rams plan to use DL Jason Fisk as part of their defensive tackle rotation along with starting DTs Jimmy Kennedy and La'Roi Glover. "We brought him in here because of his ability to be a backup nose and play when we need some help in there," Rams head coach Scott Linehan said. "When people are trying to run the ball at us, he gives us some depth on the line." Fisk is happy to be with the Rams. "It was a great opportunity for me to come in here and play with a team that has all the talent to do whatever we want." Fisk said he was glad to be playing in a 4-3 defense after playing nose tackle in a 3-4 defense with the Browns and the San Diego Chargers.

Tennessee Titans coach Jeff Fisher said today DT Joe Salave'a will have his shoulder scoped in the next couple of days. QB Steve McNair is going to have his shoulder scoped on Thursday. CB Dainon Sidney is going to require an additional scope on his knee this week. OL Gennaro DiNapoli will have both shoulders scoped as early as this week. DT Jason Fisk will have both elbows scoped and as previously reported, RB Eddie George will have his ankle scoped soon. Fisher expects McNair to be "shutdown" from six-to-eight weeks. He thinks McNair will be participating with 100% arm strength in the May mini-camp. Fisher called George's surgery minor and he expects George will have his best off-season of his career.

Paul Kuharsky reports for the Tennessean the presence of Kevin Carter and Jevon Kearse at defense end should open up the middle for the bevy of defensive tackles on the Tennessee Titans roster. Jason Fisk and John Thornton were the starting tackles last season. DTs Henry Ford and Joe Salave'a often played in clear-cut passing situations. Mix in Robaire Smith, Rod Walker and the possibly returning Josh Evans and the position is one of the deepest on the team. Evans could land elsewhere or Ford, who's got extra value because he can also play defensive end, could be moved because of his salary cap number of $3.08 million. Buffalo reportedly has an interest in Evans, if he is reinstated by the league. Coach Jeff Fisher said he's been pleased with the participation so far in the team's off-season workout program, with the exception of CB Samari Rolle who has not been attending.
